The Ichthyosaurus is the easiest water dinosaur to tame and resembles a dolphin. As a passive tame, the easiest way to catch an ichthyosaurus is to collect meat and feed it by hand. For players interested in exploring the underwater area, this is the best way to do so outside the Beelzebufo, asnothing can attack the player while riding the ichthyosaurus. An interesting tactic surrounding these dinosaurs allows you to defeat a megalodon early, as long as you tame about eight of them.

There might be some finesse required to tame an ichthyosaurus, as they can gather near mantas or megalodons. This is one of thebest flying dinosaursthat can be tamed in the early game, let alone one of the most useful tames at the start of any playthrough. The higher levels are, of course, better as their stamina is higher, but these easily tamed beasts are full of surprises.Pteranodons do not require any clubs or damage to tame, as they have an incredibly tiny health pool. The tranquilizing arrows are made from the narcoberries that can be found in the swamp caves.
One of the biggest components to keeping a Pteranodon useful is keeping an eye on its stamina bars. If the dinosaur runs out of stamina while airborne, it will unfortunately plummet out of the sky. Many a friend has been lost this way, so stay vigilant.
6Lystrosaurus
A Cute Addition To The List
A surprisingly cute addition to the list, the Lystrosaurus is reminiscent of that one animal sidekick that everyone gets weirdly attached to by the end of a movie. Although not the best for most things, this excellent companion dinosaurprovides party benefits in the form of an experience boost for all the other dinosaurs near the player. The Lystrosaurus is incredibly easy to tame, as the passively tamed creature only requires basic berries.
For players interested in player-versus-player techniques, the Lystrosaurus provides valuable experience boosts for working up the tiers of dinosaurs to reach the Diplodocus and eventually the Allosaurus. Otherwise, the eggs that can be gathered from Lystrosaurus are good ways to obtain lots of Basic Kibble early in the game for taming some of the more useful harvesting dinosaurs.
5Dilophosaur

These frilly creatures are excellent beginner meat-eaters before getting onto the big game. The Dilophosaur is a great dinosaur to have in the early game, asits poisonous attacks make it a great offensive dinosaur to tame. Dilophosaurs eat easily obtained meat from creatures like Dodos, Pegomastax, and Lystrosaurus. There are also some methods of turning Dilophosaurs into a sort of turret by setting them on the defensive around your base with stones.
As one of the first poisonous dinosaurs that are available,these frilled friends are a great addition to protect a base at the beginning of the game. Although they can be easily upgraded, these are a necessary step for every new player, so perhaps they aren’t quite as useless as people think.
4Doedicurus

The Doedicurus is similar to an armadillo and one of the most useful early game resource gatherers.This dinosaur can be used as an automated stone farmerfor players who want to focus on base building, as it rolls into different rock formations to crush them. The autonomous wandering function also has an allowance built in that makes the Doedicurus return to the player before it is encumbered, making it a perfect helper.
Not only is this dinosaur cute, but it is one of the most essential tames for players to make in their early game. When paired with its spiny cousin, the Ankylosaurus, your most extravagant base dreams can come true. Be sure to watch the time and placement of the tranquilizing arrows, as hitting the shell will not stun the dinosaur.

This Dinosaur Is Easily Tamable And Very Fast
The Iguanodon is one of the best early dinosaurs that can be tamed and is often seen as an overpowered version of the Parasaur that is available in the same areas. Easily tamable and very fast,the Iguanodon is an incredible berry harvester and even has decent melee abilities. Aside from their notable seed ability, their incredibly high stamina and agility make it a piece of cake for them to run over steep hills and mountains, making them a perfect travel companion.
An interesting mechanic allows Iguanodons to turn any fruits placed into their inventory into seeds. This mechanic, when combined with the other benefits of the creature, easily places it in the top three dinosaurs that everyone should be taming at the start of a playthrough.

The Raptor is a rather infamous dinosaur in normal circumstances, but inARK: Survival Ascendedthese creatures are incredibly strong in spite of their simple taming mechanics. Much like the Ichthyosaurus and Dilophosaur, the meat-eating creature can be stunned and then fed raw meat or simple kibble to tame it. The real benefit to using Raptors, however, comes in taming packs of them.
By taming a small army of Raptors and using the pack buff, even high-level creatures like a Rex can be taken down quickly.

It is the same taming difficulty as the Doedicurus, just requiring some tranquilizing arrows and a high point of reference. Once it is tamed, the Stegosaurus has three different backplate modes.

Ark: Survival Ascended has some incredible dinosaurs and creatures, but some are a pain to deal with and end up being just plain annoying.
