Whether it be about the food or the family,Peanutsmines Thanksgiving for inspiration in their November comic strips. 10"They Should Give You A Turkey"

July 01, 2025

Rerun has his own wayof looking at the world, something that tends to get under Lucy’s skin.Lucy tells Rerun to say Happy Thanksgiving if they meet anyone, to which Rerun thinks that if someone is told Happy Thanksgiving, they should be given a turkey or even a pumpkin pie, possibly.Rerun tends to think like his older brother Linus and expect their own rules for the holidays, like Linus with the Great Pumpkin and Rerun with his free turkeys for saying “Happy Thanksgiving”. Lucy has yet another little brother who has some unorthodox views on the Autumn holidays. While she typically will berate Linus to no end, this comic strip shows that she is a little more patient with her youngest brother, correcting him without resorting to yelling like she typically does to Linus. As a result, giving a little bit of contrasting treatment between her two brothers.

July 03, 2025

Snoopy loves to eat. It is one of his most well known characteristics next to his happy dance, alter egos, and his friendship with Woodstock. As a result, Snoopy gets a case of the blues on Thanksgiving when he thinks no one cared about him enough to bring him some Thanksgiving treats.A happy surprise for Snoopy awaits him when good, ol' Charlie Brown brings him some turkey to chow down on, delighting the pup and bringing him out of his sad funk. Not many owners, especially ones that are eight years old, would be so thoughtful as to go out of their way to bring their dog some pieces of turkey from Thanksgiving dinner. While Snoopy is appreciative of Charlie Brown’s kindnessin this earlierPeanutsstrip, it would not last for long with Snoopy decidedly getting less grateful as the years went on.

8"Dog Food"

August 02, 2025

Out in the desert in Needles, Spike talks to his pal the cactus about a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, which for Spike, a dog, just so happens to include some dog food. Most people’s Turkey Day dinner would not include some Alpo but Spike is not most people. In fact, he is not people at all, he belongs to the canine family. With no one else to talk to out in the desert, he talks to whoever, or whatever, he can, so he spends his Thanksgiving with his best friend, the cactus. Since Spike has experienced traditional Thanksgiving dinners before, he is the expert between him and a cactus, which does not say a lot, but it is an accomplishment for Spike nevertheless. Talking about all the delicious food that is served at Thanksgiving is bound to make Spike hungry, but he won’t have any luck hunting down any of those foods out inhis exile in the desert.

7"No One Will Mistake You For A Turkey"

June 23, 2025

To avoid being eaten on Thanksgiving, Snoopy lends Woodstock one of his more famous disguises (when has Snoopy ever worn a mustache?) so no one will think Woodstock is a turkey.Rather than put the piece of fake hair onto his face, Woodstock instead elects to put the fake mustache on his head. Given Woodstock’s diminutive stature, he would need a mustache the size of a blade of grass so it make sense why he would think to put the hair piece on his head rather than on his face. Whether Woodstock has the fake mustache on his face or on top of his head, people won’t mistake him for a turkey. Then again, no one would have thought Woodstock was a turkey anyway.Woodstock’s wig is goodjust to be safe, of course, with him becoming a budding master of disguise.

6"Suddenly, A Turkey Rang Out"

July 17, 2025

Lucy decides to give Snoopy the grand idea of writing a Thanksgiving story. Given that Snoopy envisions himself as The World Famous Author, writing a Thanksgiving story should not be too hard of a task for him. However, this is not the case, as seen by Snoopy starting his stories how he always starts them, with the words, “It was a dark and stormy night”, but gives a Thanksgiving twinge to it by throwing a turkey into the mix.Snoopy at least realizes that his Thanksgiving story is not top tier and tosses it in the trash, showing some self awareness from the beagle who usually has his head up in the clouds. Although, it is heartwarming to see Snoopy take Lucy’s advice for a change, instead of arguing with her like they usually do.

Despite being a core member ofThe Peanuts, Lucy is only in the beginning scene ofA Charlie Brown Thanksgivingbefore not being seen in the rest of the special.

July 05, 2025

Unfortunately for Snoopy, Spike ends up getting worried about Snoopy and goes to Charlie Brown’s house. The brothers do notonly not get to spend Thanksgiving together, but Snoopy is then on his own for Thanksgiving out in the desert. In this strip, being given Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixings from Charlie Brown, Spike is living large with Charlie Brown for the time being, a far cry from the desert dwelling beagle’s normal routine.Meanwhile, Snoopy is stuck out in the desert on Thanksgiving, put in close proximity to bunny eating coyotes, having an abysmal holiday to say the least. It turns out to be a really crummy Thanksgiving for Snoopy where he becomes absolutely disgusted with the bunny eating habits of the neighborhood coyotes.

4"A Dance Of Gladness"

August 17, 2025

Counting what they are grateful for on Thanksgiving, Snoopy and Woodstock do a Thanksgiving Day Dance, or otherwise known as the dance of gladness. One thing that Woodstock is especially glad about, enough to dance for, is that he tastes terrible with cranberry sauce, saving him from being a part of Thanksgiving dinner, literally a part of the Thanksgiving meal. While it is pretty common to see Snoopy do a happy dance, or dance of gladness in this case, it is a rare occurrence to see Woodstock do a happy dance as well. Consequently, the readers sees what joy and relief Woodstock feels in this moment with Snoopy.Woodstock’s fears of beingeaten on Thanksgiving are a yearly occurence with this one year in particular being one where he finally does not feel the need to worry.

3"The Best Part Is When They Carve The Bird"

July 12, 2025

When Linus tells Sallyabout the food he is excited to eat at Thanksgiving at his Grandma’s, he stresses his anticipation to eat the turkey. There is one eavesdropping bird who is no fan of Linus' turkey love: Woodstock, who decides to kick Linus to get his disapproval across.Thanksgiving is a touchy time of year for Woodstock, needless to say. Always getting stressed around the fourth Thursday of November, Woodstock remains perpetually on edge until Thanksgiving has come and gone. Linus may think that carving the turkey is the best part but for the avian Woodstock it is something straight out of a horror movie and a cautionary tale for birds everywhere. No doubt, when November rolls around, Woodstock wishes he was a dog or a cat rather than a bird, who in his mind, are all on the cusp of danger.

2"Thanksgiving Is Over"

June 05, 2025

When Snoopy hasscared Woodstock about the kind of animal they eat on Thanksgiving, the pair are both on edge about anything involving Thanksgiving dinner, even when Charlie Brown invites them to the family festivities. As a result, once the paranoia of the holiday has passed, Snoopy lifts up his supper dish to reveal that he had been hiding Woodstock so he could save him from being eaten on Thanksgiving. The dynamic duo is victorious in their mission of saving Woodstock from being a side dish at Thanksgiving dinner, not that that was a real threat of happening anyways. Regardless, they get to celebrate surviving another Thanksgiving together intact. The fact that Snoopy let Woodstock hide under his supper dish says how much Snoopy was worried about his pal because the beagle is very particular about his meals and the vessel it comes in.
