Slaking ex card from Supercharged Breaker.

10Slaking ex

#084/106

Slaking is seen as a creature with a great set of stats, making itone of the best non-Legendary Pokémon, but an unfortunate ability that destroys viability for competitive battle play. However, in theTCG, the new Slaking ex offers players a chance to use the pure Normal-type stats for big payouts when combined with other item cards. This card is a colorless ex, so there are options for adapting a play-style to dual play with Terapagos or other cards.

The move set for Slaking sets them up to be a heavy hitter for players who prefer strong attackers. The ability for the Slaking ex card is Slacking Off, which ensures that this Pokémon only attacks Pokémon ex or V while in play, but the attack ability for this card makes that powerful punch worth it. Slaking ex’s Great Swing deals 280 damage, meaning if paired with a Maximum Belt there could be a significant advantage to using Slaking ex.

A sleek snow leopard with swords for fangs is a quintessential Pokémon creation, Chien-Pao’s reception at the release ofScarlet and Violetmade the Ruinous Pokémon an instant fan favorite. Although not much is known about this card, this is the first time that Chien-Pao has been seen in theTCGcatalog of cards. The Ice/Dark-type Ruinous Pokémon boasts one of the fastest speeds in the video games, so many players are looking forward to the potential for its translation to the TCG.

The above Chien-Pao card was revealed as a pre-release promo forSurging Sparks; the Japanese version inSupercharged Breakeris expected to have different artwork.

Togekiss card from Pokémon TCG: Supercharged Breaker.

The card’s Ability, Snow Sink, is activated when Chien-Pao is put onto the bench, but information regarding the actual effects is still limited. For competitive play, many players expectSurging Sparksto alter the meta for the game functions. Chien-Pao’s attack move is known to have an icicle component, but there is no official release yet. Many theorize that Creatures will rejuvenate Icicle Crash, one of Chien-Pao’s moves in the VGC.

8Togekiss

#047/106

Known as a beacon of kindness and generosity, Togekiss brings love and light to theSupercharged Breakerpack. The Psychic Stage 2 card has been in several packs to date, always keeping a supportive nature to boost a player’s hand. InSurging Sparks, Togekiss is one of the few cards that has already been revealed to have an ability that offers more strategic advantages for players looking for something different.

The card has been revealed to have 140 HP and be able to deal the same in damage. Togekiss’s primary Ability is Wonder Kiss, which allows players to flip a coin for a 50% chance to draw an additional Prize card for that specific knockout. Since this ability does not stack, filling a hand with Togekiss cards is not a championship strategy. The attack move for Togekiss is Speed Wing, which deals 140 damage.

Terapagos card from Pokémon TCG: Supercharged Breaker.

7Terapagos

#093/106

The final entry in the Blueberry Pokédex fromScarlet and Violet’sIndigo DiskDLC, Terapagos' addition to the Stellar Tera lineup allows for an additional element to be used with some of the Tera Pokémon. The single-star rarity card boasts stunning background art and a cute photo of the Legendary Pokémon. Although Terapagos was first introduced to theTCGin January 2024 as an Ultra-Premium, its usefulness has not decreased with its less-shiny nature.

The card boasts an Ability called Prism Charge that allows players to search their decks for up to three Basic Energy cards of different types and attach them to Tera Pokémon in any fashion, then requires the deck to be shuffled. It is anticipated that Terapagos will see additional play and allow for other characters that were previously unsuitable for dynamic playstyles to see more use. As it can be combined with other colorless cards, Terapagos is opening up many opportunities for seriousTCGplayers.

Milotic ex from Pokémon TCG: Supercharged Breaker.

6Milotic ex

#026/106

One of the prettiest Pokémon, Milotic’s newest addition to theTCGinSurging Sparkshas left many fans disappointed about the quality of the art. The Milotic ex card does have some of the most lacking art out of the generations of that Pokémon, but it does have some of the most interesting mechanics that many players are eager to explore. Many are hoping that this card will be the companion within the pack to a Super Illustration Rare that has yet to be released.

The card’s Ability relies upon the newer installation of Tera Pokémon, with Sparkling Scales preventing all damage and attack effects from the opponent’s Tera Pokémon to Milotic ex. It is expected that Milotic ex will be able to work in a control-stall type deck alongside a previous release, theTwilight MasqueradesetMilotic, to enter competitive spaces.

Jasmine’s Gaze card from Pokémon TCG Supercharged Breaker.

5Jasmine’s Gaze

#104/106

A Johto favorite is returning once again with Jasmine, the Olivine City’s Steel Gym Leader, as a Supporter card forSupercharged Breaker. In previous iterations, Jasmine was used for pulling additionalPokémoncards, but here she’s taking more of a defensive route. Current thoughts on the card don’t feel that it is as useful as some of the other supporter cards that have been revealed so far, but many are looking forward to the Full Art version of her card.

InSupercharged Breaker, Jasmine’s Gaze as a Trainer card allows each of the player’s Pokémon to take 30 less damage after Weaknesses and Resistance is applied and counts for any new Pokémon that come into play after the card is played. Many hope this card will see some play in canceling out other players' Defiance Band strategies.

Tapu Koko card from Pokémon TCG Supercharged Breaker.

4Tapu Koko

#041/106

The Alolan guardian deity of Melemele Island, Tapu Koko is striking theSupercharged Breakerset and being introduced now as a basic Pokémon card in theTCG. Although there is not much talk on popular forums about this card, it is often seen as a card that has a history of being able to use pivot mechanics well. Before Gen 9, it was seen as a good option for Electric-type Mythical Pokémon in tanked PvP situations.

Tapu Koko inSupercharged Breakerhas an interesting attack mechanism called Prize Counter that deals an extra 90 damage if the player has more Prize cards remaining than their opponent. The Ability for the card is Call For Thunder and allows players to search their decks for up to two [L] Pokémon, reveal them, and put them into their hands before shuffling the deck. The card still boasts a low-energy retreat, making it suitable for potential pivoting methods inSupercharged Breaker.

Hydreigon ex from Pokémon TCG Supercharged Breaker.

3Hydreigon ex

#072/106

Darkness-type staple Hydreigon is being boosted inSupercharged Breaker, with Hydreigon ex being a heavy-hitting card with enormous potential. The expansion of Tera Pokémon inSurging Sparksallows for other mechanics to work alongside it. Many collectors and players are excited about the card due to the Full Art and the potential for running card removal strategies.

Hydreigon ex boasts 330 health points and two methods of doing damage alongside its very competitive Tera ability. As long as Hydreigon ex is on your bench, it prevents all damage done to it by both opponents and team members. The Crash Heads move that is featured on Hydreigon ex deals 200 damage and forces opponents to discard the top three cards from their deck, meaning many are looking forward to making decks that support this move.

Tatsugiri ex from Pokémon TCG Supercharged Breaker.

2Tatsugiri ex

#081/106

A new addition fromScarlet and Violet, Tatsugiri, the Dragon-type Pokémon, will be available as Tatsugiri ex in a Tera-form version. This new empowered version of Tatsugiri gives the Pokémon an art upgrade and over double the health that the previous basic version of the card had. Tatsugiri ex does leave fans wondering if Dondozo ex will be a forthcoming addition to theTCGseries. Many potential pairings have already been discussed in forums, with it being labeled as a very versatile Pokémon before release.

Tatsugiri ex has 160 health points, but the attack moves that it features are the more notable bits of the card that have been revealed. Translations show that Sneaky Pump allows players to deal 100 damage while ignoring all effects on the opponent’s Active Pokémon. The other notable ability, Cinnabar Lure, enables players to look at the top 10 cards of their deck, choose any Pokémon there, and put them on the player’s Bench.

Pikachu ex card from Pokémon TCG’s Supercharged Breaker set.

1Pikachu ex

#122/106

Tera Pikachu ex, the headliner of theSupercharged Breakerset, is here with an adorable Full Art and a competitive build. It wouldn’t be a Pokémon Company release without a feature of the beloved Pikachu. The ability to pair with other Pokémon that are being released makes this a card to watch out for if players enjoy builds that focus on high output. When paired with the Magneton ex, many are theorizing that early Turn Two knockouts will be possible.

Tera Pikachu ex has an additional ability outside the Tera defense, Tenacious Heart stating that if the Pokémon is active and at full health, any attack that would completely knock Pikachu ex out instead does 190 damage. The attack ability for Pikachu ex is Topaz Bolt which deals 300 damage for the cost of three Energy, making it a formidable additon to thePokémon Trading Card Game.
