New promotional art forAndorseason 2 teases some intriguing reveals ahead of the final arc. Created by Tony Gilroy,Andoris like nothing else inStar Warsto date; it’s an intense, character-driven drama that explores just how dark life under the Empire really was. Excitement is building forAndorseason 2, which is expected to release in early 2025.

New promotional art forAndorseason 2 has been revealed at D23 Brazil. It comes the day before a dedicated panel that’s expected to focus on the future of Disney’s biggest franchises, including Marvel and Lucasfilm, and the new promo art is surely a hint thatAndorwill be present - although it remains to be seen whether any footage shown will be public domain. Still, the art - and other details at the event - have already confirmed three massive takeaways. First, here’s the art now:

Cassian Andor Seems To Be In Coruscant Dress

Is he going undercover at the Imperial Capital?

TheAndorseason 2 promotional art seesDiego Luna’s Cassian Andor in much smarter attire than we’ve ever seen him before; in fact, he’s wearing something very similar to the formal attire worn by nobles onCoruscant, the galactic capital. The first season ofAndorfeatured important subplots involving Stellan Skarsgård’s Luthen Rael and Genevieve O’Reilly’s Mon Mothma on Coruscant, and it’s reasonable to assume Cassian’s story dovetails more closely with theirs in season 2.

Why Mon Mothma Talks About Ghormans In Andor Ep 6 (It’s Very Important)

Andor season 1, episode 6, “The Eye”, sees Mon Mothma once again reference Ghorman, thus continuing to set up one of Star Wars' darkest moments.

Andorseason 1 saw Mon Mothma attempt to champion the cause of a race known as the Ghormans. This was important setup, and it’s likely to be explored in more detail in season 2; Tarkin himself is known to have committed an atrocity towards the Ghormans in canon, causing Mon Mothma to speak out more openly against the Empire. She would ultimately be forced to flee Coruscant; will Cassian Andor be the one who gets her offworld?

A First Glimpse Of Yavin 4 Hints At Luthen’s Andor Season 2 Plot

Star Wars is returning to an iconic location from A New Hope

Cassian may be in what seems to be formal Coruscant dress, but the background looks to be a perfect match forYavin 4. A moon orbiting the gas giant Yavin,Yavin 4 is a remote planet that became a key rebel base by the time ofA New Hope. It was ideal for their purposes in large part because of the iconic Massassi Temples, actually ancient structures constructed by a race enslaved by the Sith.Andoris leading up towardsRogue One: A Star Wars StoryandA New Hope, so presumably season 2 will reveal how the rebels found this base.

It’s likely the explanation lies in Luthen Rael. A key figure in the nascent Rebel Alliance, Luthen operates on Coruscant under the cover of running an antiques shop.Luthen’s shop featured countless Easter eggsand deepStar Warsreferences, including a surprising number to the Sith, prompting many to speculate he’s a scholar of the Force. If that is the case, it would make sense he knows about Yavin 4 - and he’s therefore the perfect one to figure out it would make a good rebel base.

Andor’s Trusty Droid Is Still At His Side

What will happen to B2EMO?

He doesn’t appear in the promo art, butCassian Andor’s trusty droid B2EMO is confirmed to be at D23 as well. The problem, of course, is that B2EMO isn’t with Cassian by the time ofRogue One. That suggests something happens to B2EMO inAndorseason 2, and many have speculated his processor will be used to reprogram K-2SO - a very different droid accompanying Cassian in the movie.
