Skeleton Crew’sfinale is almost here which will likely bring the adventures of Wim, Fern, KB, and Neel to a close in theStar Warsgalaxy. Originally finding themselves lost in space after boarding the legendary shipTheOnyx Cinderthey found buried on their homeworld, this group of kids has finally made their way back home. However, they’ve also attracted the interest of multiple pirates seeking a legendary lost treasure. As such, it’s going to be very exciting to see how it all culminates in the final episode.

Skeleton Crewconfirms that the secret world of At Attin is said to hold a mythical “eternal treasure”. As such, it’s Jude Law’s pirate captain Jod Na Nawood who learns while “helping” the kids get home that this treasure is one of the last Old Republic mints originally discovered by the legendary Captain Tak Rennod. Most recently,Skeleton Crewepisode 7saw the Force-sensitive and lightsaber-wielding Jod threatening the kids to help him get access to At Attin’s multiple vaults filled with golden Old Republic credits. With that in mind, here’s our biggest predictions forSkeleton Crew’supcoming finale.

8Jod Is Revealed To Be An Order 66 Survivor

Explaining His Force-Sensitivity & Lightsaber Skill

Jod’s apparent ability to use the Force leads me to believe he’ll be revealed to be a survivor of Order 66. Combined with his ability to easily wield the lightsaber Wim found in Tak Rennod’s lair beneath Skull Ridge Mountain, it seems Jod likely had some formal training as a Jedi, training that was likely cut off following theJedi Purge that preceded the formation of Palpatine’s Galactic Empire. As such, I wouldn’t be surprised if Jod is revealed to be a former Jedi Padawan who turned to a pirate’s life of crime after surviving the events of Order 66.

Jod being an Order 66 survivor would also explain his clear resentment towards the kids, having referred to them as sheltered and spoiled inSkeleton Crewepisode 7. It’s likely that Jod himself is likely carrying some lingering anger toward the Jedi Order that was supposed to protect and take care of him. It’s the background and history for Jod that makes the most sense, and I’m hoping theSkeleton Crewfinale finally reveals who Jod really is considering all of his various names and monikers that are clearly just aliases (Jod Na Nawood, Silvo, Crimson Jack, Dash Zentin, etc).

7The Supervisor is Revealed To Be Captain Tak Rennod

Taking Over The Old Republic Mint

Jod and the kids confirmed that At Attin holds an Old Republic mint from an old holo-recording of Tak Rennod in his lair under Skull Ridge Mountain. Rennod was the legendary pirate captain who first found the planet and wasthe original captain ofThe Onyx Cinder. However, there have been conflicting reports and legends about what happened to Rennod and his crew following his discovery of the mint on At Attin, the only evidence of his presence on the world being the buriedOnyxCinder.

Keeping that in mind,I have a hunch that Tak Rennod may very well be alive, and perhaps secretly took over as At Attin’s Supervisoryears prior to the events ofSkeleton Crew. After all, the Supervisor’s voice has been heard inSkeleton Crewover a PA system (a voice belonging to actor Stephen Fry), though his face has never been shown. Likewise, the holo-recording of Tak Rennod from earlier episodes also hid the legendary captain’s face. Either way, I am expecting to see more of Tak Rennod during the finale in some capacity.

6The Supervisor Is A Droid

Leading At Attin As A Secret Droid

Whether he’s secretly Tak Rennod or not,I also think that the Supervisor will be revealed as a droid, rather than the expected human/alien. This would help explain the secrecy of the Supervisor, as well as all the anti-droid sentiments that have been made throughoutSkeleton Crew. Many of these comments come from Jod, who has voiced a distrust in droids, and wanted to speak to the Supervisor rather than continue to rely on the droids whom he’d tricked into thinking he was a Republic emissary arriving to pick up a shipment from their vaults.

All Pirate Pop Culture References & Easter Eggs In Star Wars: Skeleton Crew (So Far)

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew features a lot of fun Easter eggs and meta-references, particularly when it comes to pirates in real-life pop culture.

However, anti-droid sentiments have come from the kids' parents too. They’ve complained that At Attin’s security droids don’t listen to them, and they actively defied the droids when they sent a beacon beyond At Attin’s barrier in the hopes of getting a message to their kids. As such, it does lead me to think thatSkeleton Crew’sfinale will be ripe for a twist, one that confirms At Attin has been controlled by droids all this time. Likewise, it would be pretty cool if the legendary Tak Rennod was secretly a droid as well.

5Carson Teva & The Adelphi Rangers Make An Appearance

Arriving To Handle Jod’s Pirate Crew

Skeleton Crewhas yet to feature any major cameos or characters from otherNew Republic Era shows. I wouldn’t be surprised if a major character appearance gets made in the show’s finale, helping to connect to Lucasfilm’s otherStar Warsshows, especially seeing how most of these shows are meant to culminate in a movie directed by Dave Filoni. With that in mind, the appearance that makes the most sense would be Captain Carson Teva and the Adelphi Rangers, a squadron of New Republic pilots tasked with patrolling the Outer Rim for the New Republic.

A few New Republic X-Wings have already been shown twice in previous episodes ofSkeleton Crew. As such, perhaps the Rangers will arrive to help At Attin fight back against Jod’s crew of pirates. After all, they’re still waiting for Jod in the planet’s orbit after he snuck aboardThe Onyx Cinderwhich held the key to get through the barrier.

4Wim Discovers He Can Use The Force

A Full-Circle Moment

I’m half-expecting Wim to use the Force inSkeleton Crew’sfinale. Having dreamed of being a Jedi while growing up and going to school on At Attin, Wim finally got the adventure he always wanted, only to be faced with harsh realities and various dangers. However, it’s possible Wim may finally find it within himself to use the Force, not as wish fulfillment for all his days playing pretend, but with purpose and likely to save his friends. After all, he did learn some Jedi wisdom from Jod, who told him that"your focus determines your reality"(the same thing Qui-Gon Jinn once told Anakin Skywalker).

3Jod Chooses To Save The Kids From The Supervisor

A Change of Heart/Redemption?

Jod was revealed as being pretty despicable to get the score he’d always dreamed of, and he said some pretty cruel things while threatening the kids with a lightsaber. Even then,I do think there’s still room for Jude Law’s character to turn around and have some slight redemption, especially if the Supervisor is revealed to be a major threat in the finale. Not unlike Long John Silver inDisney’sTreasure Planetwho ended up saving Jim, I could see Jod helping the kids if something happens where the droids end up turning on them and their parents, perhaps for breaking so many security protocols.

2Jod Escapes At Attin, But Leaves His Crew Behind

Mirroring Long John Silver

Regardless of how much he may or may not redeem himself,I also think Jod Na Nawood could still make his escape by the finale’s end. Again mirroring Long John Silver, I could see him riding off into the proverbial sunset (perhaps with a few credits to his name), and also leaving his crew behind. Then again, this is just conjecture, and it’s just as possible that Jod could end up doubling down asSkeleton Crew’svillain and meet some sort of demise by the episode’s end.

1At Attin Joins The Rest Of The Galaxy & The New Republic

Reconnecting With The Present-Day Galaxy

Skeleton Crewhas established thatAt Attin has been intentionally cut off from the rest of the galaxy for centuries, contained within an artifical maelstrom barrier preventing outsiders from accessing it. As such, it’s been implied that the citizens of At Attin have no idea what’s been happening to the greater galaxy in recent decades, such as The Clones Wars, The Galactic Civil War, and the current New Republic that’s taken the place of the Empire. This explains why the planet still holds a functioning Old Republic mint. What hasn’t been revealed is why the mint is still running and the motives of those in charge.

As a result,my assumption is that the truth about the rest of the galaxy will eventually be revealed to At Attin’s citizens. When and if that happens, they could then join the New Republic, which could help integrate them into the modern, present-day galaxy. All things considered, it will be very exciting to see which of these predictions actually comes true when the newStar Warsfinale airs.
