Dragon Ball Z: Kakarotmay be over four years old butthat’s not stopping developer CyberConnect2 from further expanding upon the RPG with a DLC based on the latest animeDAIMA. While it proved divisive amongst fans and critics,Kakarot’s faithful adaptation of theDBZstoryline and robust character-building system has earned it a dedicated audience who enjoy its unique take on the franchise. With all the attention currently onSparking! Zero, it’s no wonder everyone is surprised thatKakarot’s getting more content.
Over on X (formerly Twitter),Dragon BallGames, the official account for all of the brand’s video game adaptations, shared a brief teaser forDAIMA: Adventure Through The Demon Realm Part I, a new DLC arc coming toDragon Ball Z: Kakarot.

The trailer doesn’t go into detail about what fans can expect but based on the source material, it seems safe to assume thatit whisks Goku and his friends off to the Demon World after everyone is mysteriously transformed into a child. The expansion doesn’t have a release date but is confirmed to be “coming soon.”
Kakrot Is Already Filled With Content
No One’s Going To Say No To More
SinceDragon Ball DAIMAis still in its infancyas an anime, it will be interesting to see how the DLC fits intoKakarot’s already extensive library of expansions. The base game covers most of the events that comprise the Saiyan Saga, Frieza Saga, Android Saga, Cell Saga, and Buu Saga, while the add-ons have introduced arcs inspired by various movies and stories seen inDragon Ball SuperandGT. If it sticks to the established trend,Adventure Through The Demon Realm Part Iwill likely offer between three tofour hours of additional content.
What’s perhaps most interesting is the implication thatCyberConnect2 is already working on even more DLC in the form ofAdventure Through The Demon Realm Part 2. Whether or not theDAIMA-themed expansions draw players back toKakarotremains to be seen, especially sinceSparking! Zerois taking up most of the franchise’s spotlight right now.Kakarotdoesn’t really need any more DLC content but the fact that more is being made is still great news for fans.

DBZ: Kakarot DLC Shows Dragon Ball Games Have Been Ignored Too Long
DBZ games have overdone many arcs, and Bandai Namco has been holding out on making a game about Goku’s adventures in the original Dragon Ball series.
Screen Rant’s Take: Keeping Kakarot Relevant Is Great
It Provides Single-Player Fans With Something To Keep Them Busy
As much as I appreciateSparking! Zero, its structure as a multi-player game doesn’t do much for me since I’m only really invested in playing through Goku’s story.Dragon Ball Z: Kakarotmay not have been as mechanically dense as some would have liked but its painstaking recreation of the anime made it my go-toDBZvideo game. I’ve yet to watchDAIMA, so I may not yetbe sold on the DLCbut I appreciate the effort in providing solo players with more content; That kind of long-term support for a single-player RPG is rare these days.
