Keen-eyedPersona 4fans may have just discovered evidence that a remake could be in the works after singer Shihoko Hirata posted that she was recording for a new game in Tokyo. While fans have been waiting patiently forPersona 6, it seemsPersona 4could be the next remake on Altus’s schedule. The presence of Hirata (who was a vocalist on the originalPersona 4) recording new vocals seemed to spark the fire to rumors of a remake.
A post on X byrudiger__twshows multiple screenshots from Hirata’s IG account, where it was revealed that the singer is currently working on an unannounced title. Whilethis revelation is highly circumstantial and has very little evidence backing aPersona 4remake being in the works, fans of the franchise are hopeful. Given thatPersona 3was remade more than a decade after its initial release, the possibility could be there, but the odds are quite slim.

Persona 4 Singer Shihoko Hirata Seen Recording in the MIT Studio
Pure Coincidence, Or Highly Intentional?
Shihoko Hiratashared these images via Instagram, claiming she is both nervous and excited about the upcoming unannounced project. The MIT studio where she can be seen recording was also visible in thePersona 5 Strikersmaking-of documentary, and the same spot was used to record multiplePersonasoundtracks. RedditorKyuubeealso added to the original thread byTurbostrider27thatHirata has previously recorded at MIT for other projects too, includingDestiny Child, a 2016 role-playing video game.
Persona 4 Showed Me What Most Of The Biggest RPGs Are Still Missing
Persona 4 may not have some of the impressive technology of newer RPGs, but it is still far better at one aspect of the genre than many other games.
Given that Hirata has recorded at MIT for other titles, this bolsters the idea that these speculations could end up being unwarranted. While thePersona 3remakewas extremely successful, no concrete data has been revealed that Atlus has any plans for aPersona 4remake at the time of writing. That said, eagle-eyed fans also pointed out thatHirata had been liking comments alluding to the fact that she was there forPersona 4, which added even more fuel to the fans' fires.

While Persona Fans Are Hopeful, There Is No Concrete Evidence Of A Persona 4 Remake
The Odds Of This Being Proof Of A Persona 4 Remake Are Quite Slim
Even though fans were pretty excited by the possibility of a fourth game, there is no concrete evidence to support that a remake is already in the making. Plus, apart from amuch-needed graphic update,Persona 4is not in dire need of a remake — unlike its predecessor. There is a higher likelihood ofPersona 6releasing before the remake anyway, as Redditorprofound-killahsaid,“It’s probably at least three years away given that Persona 6 will likely come beforehand, but you can play P4G right now, and it’s excellent.”
Atlus Studios has yet to confirm that aPersona 4remake is even in the pipeline, though the devs are hoping to remakePersona 1 & 2at some point. While many fans are hoping to see revamped versions of the olderPersonagames in the near future, it seems like we’ll all be waiting quite a while for any confirmation on what’s to come.
