Two of the most successful ongoing horror franchises,A Quiet Placeincludes the 2018 and 2021 mainline movies directed by John Krasinski about the Abbot family, followed by the 2024 prequel directed by Michael Sarnoski, the three movies making nearly $1 billion combined. TheSawfranchise, on the other hand, started in 2004 and includes 11 installments from various directors that have made more than $1 billion at the box office combined.
Now, talents from the two horror franchises are joining forces for a new film. According toDeadline,A Quiet Place’s Djimon Hounsou is set to star in a new horror-thriller movie,The Monster, fromSawdirector Darren Lynn Bousmanand producer Mark Burg. The script is written by Jonathan Bernstein and James Greer, who previously penned Steven Soderbergh’sUnsane, while Lee Nelson and David Tish are also producing. They shared the following statements:
