The Bachelorseason 29’s conclusion was underwhelming overall, butI think the moment that lost me entirely is when Grant Ellis chose an engagement ring without knowing who he wanted to give it to, which really summarized the theme of his entire season. Grant, who originally appeared onThe Bacheloretteseason 21, spent the entirety of his own season of the series in a state of confusion. While Grant was clear that he wanted to find love, figuring out who he wanted to end up with was difficult for theBachelorstar, and that confusion lasted until the bitter end.
The Bachelorseason 29seemed like it had chosen the right lead for the job early on, especially knowing that Grant was a man in his thirties who was looking for a serious relationship, rather than the younger men that have led the series in the past. With Grant seeming stable and emotionally available, I felt certain that the season was going to go off without a hitch. Unfortunately, things changed quickly andit became clear that Grant wasn’t the right choice to be the lead early on. With Grant unable to make tough calls, his final decision loomed large.

Grant didn’t appear to have his mind made up while looking at engagement rings with Bachelor fixture Neil Lane.
Grant Chose A Ring Before Knowing Who He Was Proposing To
He Didn’t Have Any Real Direction
Although it could’ve been fairly edited, Grant didn’t appear to have his mind made up while looking at engagement rings withBachelorfixture Neil Lane. While it may be that he knew more about what he’d be doing than he let on, Grant consistently shared withBachelorNation that he didn’t know who he was going to pick as he approached his final daywith Juliana Pasquarosa and Litia Garr. Though it was obviously a rough choice for Grant, the fact that he went into the ring selection so uncertain was concerning for me, and left me struggling to watch.
He’s Messy & It Looks Bad
Although Grant found himself down on one knee to propose to Juliana after letting go of Litia in an emotional final elimination, his behavior throughout the season has set a bad precedent that leaves me distrustful of his overall happiness. While I thinkGrant and Juliana are a sweet couple, the fact that he switched so quickly from being uncertain and holding a candle for Litia in his heart to being prepared to propose to Juliana felt wrong.I wasn’t happy with the way Grant’s indecision was shown throughout the season, and it reared its ugly head during the finale.

Grant’s behavior sets a poor precedent for futureBachelorleads that could impact the show in a bad way. While his behavior is predicated on honesty that allows him to make mistakes, there’s a big difference between following your heart and allowing your emotions to overrun your actions. Grant chose to take the long route with his decision-making, struggling to choose who he really wanted throughout the season and eventually leading Litia on to an unacceptable extent. Regardless ofwhat Grant thinks about his behavior, it shouldn’t be somethingBachelorNation allows to continue with future leads.

I Can’t Keep Watching The Bachelor After Grant’s Horrible Showing
I’m Tired Of This Show Stringing Me Along
As an OGBachelorfan, seeing Grant’s behavior has made me feel like the show’s not for me anymore.Watching Grant’s poor decision-making and inabilityto let go of those who he wasn’t interested in all season long left me struggling to connect to his journey overall. IfThe Bachelorwere to return with another lead like Grant for the milestone thirtieth season,I don’t think I’d stick around to see the results. Allowing the leads to use their power to string contestants along and make themselves feel better about the results isn’t what I want to invest in.
