Warning: Major spoilers ahead for season 4 of Shoresy

Season 4 ofShoresyrepresented a major shift in the overall narrative of the show, as it took place during the hockey offseason, and as a result several major characters from previous seasons were missing. Season 4 explores the fallout of the Subdury Blueberry Bulldogs' victory in the national tournament, particularly the ramifications of theBulldogs partying all over Sudbury with the NOSHO cup. It also follows Shoresy as he tries to decide what his life looks like after hockey in two facets: his relationship with Larura Mohr and his next career path.

Shoresy season 4 imagery

Season 4 focuses exclusively on the exploits of Shoresy, Dolo, Goody, Hitch, Michaels, and the Jims as they are the only main Bulldogs that remained in “Sudvegas” over the summer.Other characters from the mainShoresycastreturn to their hometown for the summer, leaving the veterans to celebrate on Ramsey Lake and pursue an invitation to the secretive party known as Weird Sudbury. While there were some major Bulldogs missing, several other characters were absent given that they had no real role in the events that unfolded.

Shoresy Season 4 Soundtrack Guide: Every Song & When They Play

Season 4 of Shoresy continued the show’s tradition of accentuating its hilarious yet heartwarming narrative with perfect, usually upbeat dance songs.

5Sanguinet

The Bulldogs' Coach Is Home For The Summer

The most significant charactermissing from season 4 ofShoresyis Sanguinet, the young former scrub player-turned-coach. As the season opens, the remaining Bulldogs are busy partying across Sudbury, butNat mentions that a majority of the players have actually returned to their hometowns for the summer. The show never digs any deeper than that; it remains unknown where exactly Sanguinet goes home to, or why he chose to leave for the summer as opposed to staying in Sudbury.

Season 4 ofShoresyhas the second-highest average episode rating on IMDB of any season (8.75/10), trailing only season 3 (9.0/10).

Shoresy and JJ Frankie JJ from Shoresy

It seems particularly strange that Sanguinet would leave knowing that he was romantically involved with Miig. She doesn’t so much as mention him at any point in season 4, so it’s possible they split up and that contributed to Sanguinet leaving for the summer. He also could have discovered that Nat wants Shoresy to coach the Bulldogs, which could mean thatShoresy replaces Sanguinet entirelyin season 5 and beyond. That seems unlikely given how he grew into the role as a leader, sothe friction between Sanger and Shoresy co-coaching could be a major plot in season 5.

4JJ Frankie JJ

The Scoring Specialist Likely Also Went Home

The French-speaking scoring specialist had a strange arc in season 3, as he was all but useless to the Bulldogs as he dealt with the mental battle of real Canadian musical artist Marie-Mai breaking up with him, and his many current and past romantic entanglements finally caught up with him.Jean-Jacques François Jacques Jean is originally from Quebec, so it makes sense that he would go back home for the summer given how far from his home Sudbury is. Chances are he is attempting to make amends with Laurence Labouef, who he already left the team for once to pursue.

3Laurence Leboeuf

The Award-Winning Actress From Quebec Plays Herself

Laurence Laboeuf, like Marie-Mai, is a real Canadian celebrity who plays a fictionalized version of herself inShoresy. The French-Canadian actress is introduced in the show as JJ Frankie JJ’s latest celebrity fling in season 1, and she resurfaces in season 3 as one of the women who go on a talk show to blow the whistle on his disloyal behavior when it comes to his romantic conquests. With JJ Frankie JJ nowhere to be found in season 4,there was no real reason for Laurence Laboeuf to be involved in the events occurring during the summer in Sudvegas.

2Fish

The Bulldogs' Forward Never Appears In Season 4

Despite being one of the Bulldogs' best players, the forward known as Fish is nowhere to be found in season 4. Fish, played by Jacob Smith, is one of the manyreal hockey players in the cast ofShoresy; Smith actually played in Sudbury and for one of the Soo’s developmental teams in real life. Fish famously dated two of the most attractive girls “in a sea of impossibly hot girls in Sudbury”, so he would have had a reason to stay behind for the summer. However, he is assumedlyone of the other players who returns home for the summer.

1Remy Nadeau and Benny Brodeur

The Off-Beat, Bilingual Broadcast Duo Has No Role

The eccentric broadcasting duo of Remy Nadeau and Benny Brodeur show up several times in the first three seasons ofShoresy, calling the important games that the Bulldogs play. There is not much to their characters except being weird guys getting overly excited by senior whale-sh*t hockey, but they actually represent a fun recurring cameo on the show. Benoit “Benny” Brodeur is played by Jacob Tierney, one of the masterminds behind bothLetterkennyandShoresy, while Remy Nadeau is played by Jonathan Torrens, the famous French-Canadian hockey commentator and sometimes-actor. With no hockey, they had no role for season 4.
