To complete one of the Doctor Doom quests inFortnite, players must track down Rare Chests on theFortniteisland. Unlike ordinary Loot Chests, Rare Chests are blue and drop higher-quality loot when opened, making them highly sought after. However, as their name suggests, they are also uncommon and hard to find.

Rare Chest spawns are random; however, based on my experience, a good rule of thumb isthe bigger the location, the more likely they are to appear.Named Locations, including some ofFortnite Chapter 5 Season 4’sbest landing spots, are the best bet for finding Rare Chests. However, there are also a few other ways to find Rare Chests that players can try in order to improve their chances.

How To Find Rare Chests In Fortnite

Find 5 Rare Chests And Complete A Fortnite Doctor Doom Quest

To find a Rare Chest, players should head for the biggest locations on theFortniteisland. While landing off the beaten path is a perfectly valid strategy, Rare Chests tend to be most common at major locations and landmarks, such as Castle Doom or The Raft. Luckily, these locations also have more to offer, including large amounts of floor loot and some ofFortnite Chapter 5 Season 4’sNPCs.

Eye-catching landmarks such as the forge near Castle Doom are prime locations for Rare Chests to spawn.Rare Chests appear to explore more frequently at the island’s most interesting locations, which draws in players based on unique features or sights. It’s worth noting that big locations are often hotly contested due to the amount of loot that can be found. As such, players will be lucky if they manage to open more than one or two Rare Chests per match.

Players should also keep an eye out forspecial Doctor Doom and Avengers Cheststhis season. These drop high-quality seasonal items such as Captain America’s Shield or War Machine’s Arsenal.Seasonal items tend to be very powerful and are almost always worth obtaining.

Alternatively, one of the best ways to find Blue Chests is to check Weapons Bunkers, as shown on the map below:

There are nine Weapons Bunkers on theFortniteisland which open at random during matches. For each match, six out of nine Weapons Bunkers will open, while the remaining three remain sealed up.Nearby players will hear an alarm sound when a Bunker opens and searching them is always worthwhile, as three Rare Chests are guaranteed to spawn inside.

Each also contains Epic and Legendary-quality weapons and gear, so players are rewarded with more than just quest completion.

In my experience, visiting Weapons Bunkers is the easiest way to complete this particularFortnitequest quickly. Unlike Named Locations, these aren’t marked so some players won’t know to look out for them. However, this doesn’t mean you won’t have competition. The best approach is to target Bunkers and Named Locations to get this quest done quickly for another cosmetic reward fromFortnite’sDoctor Doom set.
