Developed by Kuro Games,Wuthering Waveswas exclusive to mobile and PC platforms and the PS5 is its first console destination. Alongside the game’s release onPlayStation, Kuro Games launchedWuthering WavesVersion 2.0, a major update with a new region and a generous amount of content for new players. The developers alsoannounced on social mediathat current players can connect their Kuro Games account to their PlayStation Network account to ensure their progress in Wuthering Wavesis synced across platforms.

Wuthering Waves, orWuWafor short, is another entry in the ever-growing gacha RPG genre popularized byGenshin Impact. The game was released in May of 2024 and even before its release,Wuthering Waveshad over 50 million preregistrations. However,some technical issues from the launch seem to have followed WuWa to the PS5. Under the announcement tweet, some console players said their original accounts wouldn’t link to their PSN ones or their progress didn’t sync from their mobile accounts. As of this writing, Kuro Games hasn’t announced a fix but could do so soon.

The new nation of Rinascita adds a region full of lavish parties and political deception among the elite families of Ragunna City forWuthering WavesRovers to navigate. New characters, including Carlotta, Zhezhi, Roccia, and Jinhsi, are available to interact with Carlotta’s Story being the newest companion quest. Several new events have also been added toWuthering Wavesversion 2.0, with many focusing on carnivals and parties that have something to hide.
Thirty-two new echoes for players to find and fight were added in 2.0, including seven new nightmare echoes that are variants of Overlord Echoes players have already encountered.There are also new effects for characters to utilize in combat alongside two new 4-star weapons. The Poetry and Paen is a weapon series and Call of the Abyss is a free rectifier weapon.
