Batman, Superman, and Robin Get the “Action Movie Treatment” From Artist Dan Mora
In this action-packed scene, Batman, Superman, and Robin find themselves accompanied by two unexpected guests:Bat-Mite and Mister Mxyzptlk. Originating from the enigmatic fifth dimension, these impish characters boast reality-warping abilities and a penchant for mischief. Bat-Mite often targets Batman with his mischievous antics, while Mister Mxyzptlk enjoys toying with Superman. Hence,it’s their impish meddling that has altered the trio’s appearance and orchestrated this cinematic moment, much to the annoyance and bewilderment of Batman and Superman, who are less than impressed with the transformation.
However, the imps have a motive behind their sudden appearance that extends beyond their typical mischief-making tendencies. Bat-Mite and Mister Mxyzptlk have arrived seeking the assistance ofSuperman and Batman following the murderof one of their fellow imps. Their revelation exposes a sinister plot targeting the superhero-loving fifth-dimensional beings and the gathering of villainous imps, a threat to both imps and DC’s heroes. Given this context,it’s understandable why the imps orchestrated such a cinematic moment–they were setting the tone for what is no doubt going to be a badass team-upbetween them and the World’s Finest.

Batman / Superman: World’s Finest: Mark Waid and Dan Mora Are a Comedic Dream Team Come True
Dan Mora’s god-tier art aside, it’s Mark Waid’s incredible humor that truly elevates these action movie-esque panels. Batman’s reaction to Bat-Mite’s mischief steals the show with its hilarity. As expected, Batman scolds Bat-Mite and demands him to cease his reality-warping antics once he catches on to what is happening. However, the truly amusing part is that even after Bat-Mite apologizes, Batman continues to grouse at him, quipping, “I thought I was going blind,” referencing the change in his vision caused by Bat-Mite equipping him with sunglasses. All-in-all, this is an incredible and unforgettable comic moment featuringBatman,Superman, andRobinthat needs to be seen on the silver screen.
