One of the most popular manga from the early 2000s,Claymore, has been confirmed to receive a live-action adaptation thanks to the efforts of CBS Studios and Masi Oka, according to a report published byDeadline. With support from the publishing company that originally premiered the series, Shueisha, Oka will undertake the job of producing the manga into a faithful replication that honors the original source.
Claymoreis a dark fantasy series written and illustrated by Norihiro Yagi, originally published by Monthly Shōnen Jump in 2001. The story follows themain character, Clare, as she embarks on a journey to rid the world of the dreaded monsters known as Yoma, alongside a young orphan boy she takes in after saving him from one of these creatures. As a Claymore, Clare herself is a mix of human and Yoma, designed by a mysterious organization to combat these threats as long as the town or person can pay a fee.
