Elizabeth Olsen wants to return as theScarlet Witchin theMarvel Cinematic Universe. Wanda Maximoff grew in importance in the franchise with the release ofWandaVision, which was Olsen’s first MCU project as a lead. Following Wanda’s tragic story of losing Vision and her kids in the series, the character went on a multiverse-wide rampage in search of her kids inDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The most recent chapter in theScarlet Witch’s MCU timelineis Wanda’s death in theDoctor Strangesequel, with Mount Wundagore falling on her. However, that might not be the end.
OnJimmy Kimmel Live!,Elizabeth Olsen confirmed that Wanda Maximoff is dead to the best of her knowledge and that she wants to see the Scarlet Witch come back to life. Olsen would like for the MCU to keep a window open for her to come back as the Scarlet Witch, with the added caveat that Marvel Studios needs “to find the smartest writers to figure out how” Wanda’s return from the dead could make sense. So far, Wanda Maximoff has not been confirmed for anyproject on the MCU’s slate. Check out the full quote below:

“I think I’m dead. I would beg to leave a window open [to return] … I would like to figure out how to cleverly [be] beyond dead. We need to find the smartest writers to figure out how to make this all make sense.”

Vision Quest: Cast, Story, & Everything We Know About The MCU Show
WandaVision’s ending left a lot of loose ends, as it ended with White Vision fleeing Westview, but the Vision show will answer everything.
This is also not the first time that Olsen comments on the Scarlet Witch coming back from the dead. As she mentioned in the interview, Olsen would love to play Wanda again if Marvel showed that it had a story worth telling. Earlier this month,Olsen addressed a possible Scarlet Witch return, saying, “If there’s a good way to use her, I’m always happy to come back.” The actress also noted that Marvel did not know what to do with Wanda for a moment, likely in connection to her shocking villain turn inDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Our Take On Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch Return Comments
The Actress Does Not Want To Get Burned By The MCU Again
Based on Olsen’s comments, it is clear that the actress is open to playing Wanda Maximoff again. However, I believe that afterDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessmade the Scarlet Witch a major villain instead of handling her grief in a less destructive way post-WandaVision, Olsen does not want to return to the MCU unless there is a story that pulls the character into another direction. I’m convinced that with Wanda remaining popular and Olsen wanting to return, theScarlet Witchwill come back, and her reported possible return in the Vision series would be perfect.
