TheJurassic Parkfranchise is renowned for hosting a wide variety of dinosaur species, including the famous Velociraptors, and each one has its own level of deadliness. Since the release of the first film in 1993, the franchise has become synonymous with dinosaurs, with manyTV shows and movies referencingJurassic Parkover the years. The $6 billion franchise hosts six movies split into two trilogies,Jurassic ParkandJurassic World, and a seventh film titledJurassic World Rebirthis expected to be releasedin July 2025.
As one of the most famous franchises about dinosaurs,Jurassic Parkmust deliver the best and scariest species. There have been some interesting iterations of dinosaurs in the movies, such as theTherizinosaurus inJurassic World Dominion. However, theJurassic Parkfranchise has a soft spot for Velociraptors, with raptors such as Blue even having a recurring appearance, and there have been many deadly variations of the species throughout the films.

5Oviraptor
The Oviraptor Appeared In The Extended Cut
The Oviraptor is a unique-looking raptor as it has a beak instead of the usual teeth that other raptors have. However, the Oviraptor also has teeth in the roof of its mouth, making it a highly unusual feature, with scientists suspecting the creature was an omnivore. Despite other dinosaursbeing exaggerated in size, such as theVelociraptors being much bigger inJurassic Park, the Oviraptor is one of the few dinosaurs in the franchise whose size is consistent with its real-life counterpart.
10 Incredibly Bizarre Dinosaurs Jurassic World 4 Needs To Use
Jurassic World 4 could be the perfect opportunity to introduce some new and unusual dinosaurs to distinguish it from the franchise’s past.
Appearing in an extended scene inJurassic World Dominion, the Oviraptor was shown in a pit fight against a Lystrosaurus, a small creature that appeared rather docile. Shockingly, even though the Oviraptor was goaded into being aggressive, the Lystrosaurus decapitated the Oviraptor in one bite, causing it to run around headless. As the Oviraptor was defeated by a small herbivore, it is definitely one of the less deadly raptors in theJurassic Parkmovies.

4Pyroraptor
One Of The Only Feathered Dinosaurs In The Franchise
Jurassic Parkhas been somewhat criticized for its lack of scientific accuracy regarding the appearance of the dinosaurs, as some had feathers as opposed to dark scaly skin. Therefore, the franchise introduced the aesthetically accurate Pyroraptordinosaur inJurassic World Dominion.Owen Grady and Kayla Watts encountered a hostile Pyroraptor on a frozen lakenear the Biosyn sanctuary, after they crash-landed.
The Pyroraptor is the fourth predator inJurassic Parkto swim after its prey. The other three are the Spinosaurus, the Mosasaurus, and the Nothosaurus.
The Pyroraptor was shown to be very aggressive inJurassic World Dominionas it had no hesitation about squaring up to two humans, despite being on its own. Interestingly, the Pyroraptor dived under the ice to pursue its targets, showing impressive swimming skills, as well as incredible speed running on the icy surface. As a result, the Pyroraptor could have easily killed Owen and Kaylahad they not reached the safety of the elevator in time, demonstrating the raptor’s deadliness both on land and in the water.
3Indoraptor
As one ofJurassic Park’sfictional dinosaurs, the Indoraptor is unique to the franchise because half of its DNA comes from another fictional dinosaur; the Indominus Rex. InJurassic World, the Indominus Rex was introduced as the main antagonist after it broke free from its confinement and was made with Velociraptor DNA. This caused Blue’s pack to accept the Indominus Rex as their alpha, causing them to turn against their previous alpha, Owen Grady.
InJurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, the Indoraptor is first seen at the Lockwood Manor auction and is introduced as Dr. Henry Wu’s Indominus Rex and Velociraptor hybrid.
InJurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, the Indoraptor is first seen at the Lockwood Manor auction and is introduced as Dr. Henry Wu’s Indominus Rex and Velociraptor hybrid. With heightened intelligence and trained response to a laser targeting system, the Indoraptor was engineered to be the next generation of dinosaur that could be weaponized. However, its escape led to many deaths as the Indoraptor became uncontrollable. The Indoraptor was eventually killed by the Velociraptor, Blue, showing that bigger does not always mean deadlier.
2Velociraptor
This Jurassic ParkStaple Appears In Every Film
Velociraptors have appeared in everyJurassic Parkmovie since 1993, although they have changed somewhat over the years. The early Velociraptors in theJurassic Parktrilogy were much more violent than theirJurassic Worldcounterparts, as they were wild dinosaurs as opposed to the raptor pack that was trained by Owen Grady. Although the raptor pack is led by a human alpha, they are definitely no less deadly, and this is seen inJurassic World.
Despite Blue and her pack’s bond with Owen, the Velociraptors cannot ignore their nature when the Indominus Rex becomes their alpha, and they turn on the humans.Velociraptors’ ability to work as a pack, using stealth attacks and “overwhelm” tactics, makes them a deadly foe. Throughout theJurassic Parkfranchise, Velociraptors have been responsible for the deaths of multiple humans, as well as dinosaurs that were genetically engineered to be better than them, such as the Indominus Rex and the Indoraptor. As the staple dinosaurs in the franchise, it is therefore no surprise that velociraptors are one of the deadliest.
1Atrociraptor
The Atrociraptor Was Introduced In Jurassic World Dominion
As a pack animal, the Atrociraptor is similar to the Velociraptor, especially as they are almost the same size. The Atrociraptors were first seen inJurassic World Dominionas a pack of four trained by Soyona Santos to be weaponized dinosaurs. The pack differs from Owen’s Velociraptor pack as the Atrociraptors have red hues and a stockier build, and they are much faster than Velociraptors. Much like the Indoraptor, the Atrociraptors are also trained with a laser targeting system, causing them to lock onto their target and use any means to defeat them, as director and co-writer Colin Treverrow explains:
Where the Velociraptor is a little bit more of a stealth hunter, the Atrociraptors are a bit more brutish. These things will just come at you. And in this particular case, they’ve picked up his scent, and they’re not going to stop until he’s dead. They’re pretty brutal. They’re pretty vicious.
InJurassic World Dominion, the raptors kill multiple agents as ordered by Soyona, and also chase after Claire and Owen, who narrowly escape the dinosaurs. While their kill count is considerably lower than Velociraptors, the Atrociraptors only appear in oneJurassic Parkmovie, and there is still potential for them as they are alive at the end of the film. While most raptors are quite deadly, the Atrociraptors are essentially faster, modern, weaponized versions of Velociraptors, who have continuously proved their aggressive nature, making the Atrociraptor the deadliest raptor in theJurassicParkfranchise.

Jurassic Park
The Jurassic Park franchise is an action-adventure sci-fi series that began with Michael Crichton’s original novel. The series explores the dramatic repercussions of resurrecting dinosaurs through advanced genetic science. Set primarily in a disastrous theme park, Jurassic Park explores the profound ethical dilemmas about tinkering with the DNA of long ago extinct creatures and the manipulation of the natural world through science.
