All the residents in the Town have been terrorized byFrom’s nocturnal monsters, who emerge each night without fail, and have found increasingly disturbing ways to torment their victims. The Talismans that Boyd discovered have been useful in keeping the residents protected from the monsters in an enclosed space. However, there is only so much that the Talismans can do, and the larger issue of the monsters remains. Smiley’s Return Means From’s Monsters Can’t Really Die
The Monsters Are Immortal
After Fatima (Pegah Ghafoori) gives birth, Boyd goes into the tunnels, where he sees that her “baby” is a fully grown Smiley (Jamie McGuire), who has now been reborn. This answers several ofFrom’s major mysteries, including what was growing inside of Fatima and how the monsters were created. The monsters were once people who sacrificed their children in exchange for immortality. Smiley’s resurrection proves that they cannot die and will merely be reborn if any of the residents manage to kill them.

Saving The Children Might Be The Only Way To Destroy From’s Monsters For Good
This Would Make Tabitha And Jade’s Revelation Even More Important
Another major reveal in the finale is that Tabitha Matthews (Catalina Sandino Moreno) and Jade Herrera (David Alpay) have been to the Town many times before and every version of them has tried and failed to saveFrom’s"Anghkooey"children. Since the monsters cannot be killed, the only way to defeat them may be through finally succeeding in saving the children.
