I think I may have uncovered who will be Mavuika’s Pyro hero inGenshin Impact’s story arc in Natlan, and it may seem surprising from an initial standpoint. At the moment, the narrative presented in Version 5.0 introduces players to the Nation of Pyro and some of the first troubles Mavuika and her compatriots are facing, considering both the Fatui presence and the Abyssal incursion that is bound to overtake the entire region if not stopped.Natlan’s characters inGenshin Impactare uniting to help face these threats, and Mavuika is assembling heroes to represent the Nation of Pyro’s efforts.
This article contains spoilers for the Natlan story arc and speculation about the possible outcome of some plot points.

Near the end of the Archon Quests in Version 5.0, Mavuika showed some of the designated heroes deemed worthy to fight the Abyss alongside her. These heroes are representatives of the different playable elements and their respective tribes across Natlan. So far, the story quests have shown that Xilonen is the Geo hero from the Children of the Echoes, Kinich is the Dendro hero from the Scions of the Canopy, Iansan is the Electro hero from the Collective of Plenty, and Mualani is the Hydro hero from the People of the Springs. That leaves two heroes remaining in the game.
Mavuika’s Roster Of Heroes Needs Two More Champions In Genshin Impact
Characters Are Linked To Natlan’s Tribes
Based onGenshin Impacttribe leaksso far, the Pyro and Anemo tribes are the next ones to be introduced, with Cryo or Electro being the remaining ones. With Iansan already appointed as an Electro hero for the Collective of the Plenty, there is a chance that Cryo will be left out of the equation, meaning thatthe two remaining champions in Mavuika’s plans will be from the Anemo and Pyro tribes. While unconfirmed, it seems like Chasca is building up to become the Anemo hero of Natlan once she unlocks her powers and is acknowledged by her Ancient Name.
That would leave Pyro as the remaining element needing representation. So far, the upcoming revealed Natlan characters do not include another Pyro unit other than Mavuika, but it is uncertain if Mavuika will be the Pyro hero herself or if she will have someone else join her forces. There is a chance that the final tribe is, indeed, related to Cryo and that it could be represented by Citlali, the only Cryo character revealed for Natlan’s near future. If that is not the case, however, there are indications of who may fulfill the role of Pyro heroinGenshin Impact.

Natlan’s Pyro Hero In Genshin Impact May Be Bennett
The Classic 4-Star Character May Be From Natlan
I roughly suspect that Bennett may become Mavuika’s Pyro hero in Natlan. Despite the character being introduced in Mondstadt, he is not originally from there. There is reason to believe he may be from the Nation of Pyro. The first sign of this is present in a subtle poem written by Venti about Bennett. In it, the bard makes a correlation between the Pyro character and Mare Jivari, a region from Natlan. Venti says both are so close and distant, perhaps hinting at Bennett’s roots in the location, though now miles away with him being in Mondstadt inGenshin Impact.
Genshin Impact 5.1 Leaks: Slower Players May Miss Out On Hundreds Of Free Primogems
Players may be given the chance to claim hundreds of free Primogems in Genshin Impact 5.1, but some Travelers may be left out of the rewards.
Furthermore, the lore in Bennett’s Story 2 files mentions he was abandoned in a place described as “hell on earth” and then found by an old adventurer. This description seems to fit what Mare Jivari is rumored to be: a harsh landscape within Natlan that contains a sea of fire. While Bennett was rescued from this location that seems like Mare Jivari, the adventurer who saved him died from injuries, perhaps obtained within the hostile location. As such,he was unable to tell the story of how and from where Bennett was rescuedinGenshin Impact.

As the Anemo Archon, Venti may be aware of Bennett’s true origins, as indicated by the aforementioned poem for the Windblume Festival.
Another curious aspect about Bennett that may simply be speculation on my part is that characters who are born in Natlan and leave the Nation of Pyro also leave the blessing of the Wayobs behind. In doing so, they experience misfortune and illnesses – the Wayobs protect the people of Natlan from Abyssal influence. The reason Bennett may be so unlucky and unfortunate may actually be because he left the Nation of Pyro without the permission of the Wayobs. As such, he is bound to suffer negative consequences across all his efforts in Mondstadt.

Bennett May Be Lavawalker’s Reincarnation In Genshin Impact
Lavawalker Disappeared In Mare Jivari
I also suspect that, aside from simply being from Natlan, there is more to Bennett. He is rumored to have appeared in Mare Jivari, without any explanations. The idea is that he was abandoned there, but walking into Mare Jivari to abandon a child seems like a huge risk for whatever unworthy parent is doing that. This place is known for being extremely hostile, andone does not simply walk into Mare Jivari. Because of this, I somewhat believe Bennett wasn’t abandoned by any one person, but like theGenshin Impactlore states, “by the world itself.”
Genshin Impact 5.1 Leaks: Citlali Already Sounds Way Too Similar To Another Character
The initial details about Citlali’s gameplay kit in Genshin Impact have emerged, but they sound too similar to the abilities of an existing character.
I believe that Bennett emerged in Mare Jivari and he may be the reincarnation of a powerful and notable member of Natlan society: the Lavawalker. This important Natlan sage, which prompted the naming of the Artifact set, is one of the few if not only people who are known to have ventured into Mare Jivari. In fact, his whole lore revolves around that very adventure.

There are a lot of mentions in the Artifact set about how Lavawalker entered Mare Jivari and was never again seen, leaving his fate inGenshin Impact’s story open to interpretation.
If Lavawalker disappeared in Mare Jivari and Bennett simply appeared there, there may be a connection between them. After all, Natlan is the Nation of rebirth and resurrection. Although it may be a far-fetched guess,I like to believe Bennett may be Lavawalker’s reincarnation. Lavawalker found a phoenix in Mare Jivari, and that may have helped prompt his resurrection following his death in the hostile environment. If this is the case, then Bennett may be a much more important character toGenshin Impact’s lore than what the game leads us to believe.

Bennett’s True Identity In Genshin Impact May Be Hidden In Natlan
The Character Could Awaken His Ancient Name
Another detail about Bennett is that his true name is unknown. “Bennett” is the name he was given upon being taken in by Mondstadt’s Adventurer’s Guild. With the existence of Ancient Names in Natlan, there may be more in store for Bennettif he were to return to the Nation of Pyro. There, he could seek the acknowledgment of the Wayobs.
Every Genshin Impact 5.1 Character Confirmed & Leaked (Phase 1 & Phase 2 Banners)
The structure of the character banners in Phase 1 and Phase 2 of Genshin Impact 5.1 has allegedly leaked, including anticipated reruns.
This idea seems to collide with the speculation of him being Lavawalker’s reincarnation –Bennett may be destined for greatness and may even serve as one of Mavuika’s heroesin the fight against the Abyss inGenshin Impact.

Genshin Impact 5.2 May Help Bring Bennett Into Natlan
A Dragonspine Event Has Been Leaked
Lastly, another important point to analyze is the game’s content itself. Beyond the already available missions, the new Natlan Archon Quests are confirmed to be added in Versions 5.1 and 5.3.In Version 5.2, it seems like HoYoverse may simply not add anything directly related to Natlan.
However, that does not mean that there will not be any development on that end.

Genshin Impact5.2 leaks about Dragonspineindicate that we will return to the icy mountain of Mondstadt. While the first train of thought may be considering that we will see further development in Albedo’s story, this may actually be related to Bennett. He’s already been linked to Dragonspine in past events, and this time he may be the star of it.
This may be a clever way of bridging the gap from Version 5.1 Archon Quests to Version 5.3’s Archon Quests and serving as a narrative excuse to bring Bennett into Natlan by actually interacting with him rather than having him simply appear in the Nation of Pyro in Version 5.3.

Genshin Impact 5.1 Leaks Have Me Surprised Over An Early Story Twist
There may be a very early plot twist in Genshin Impact 5.1, as indicated by leaks, which may significantly change the course of the narrative.
It is worth noting thatmost of what was spoken of here is simply speculative, but the signs left by in-game lore and the weird connection between characters, locations, and events, seem to point toward Bennett having a much larger role in the game’s story other than just being the adventurer with bad luck from Natlan. Bennett’s “teamwork is dreamwork” motto may actually serve in the Nation of Pyro as Mavuika assembles a party of heroes to fight off the Abyss inGenshin Impact.
