Ghostsshowrunner Joe Wiseman provides season 4 character details that clarify the backstory of Patience (Mary Holland) and her history with Isaac (Brandon Scott Jones). Season 3 of the CBS show, following Samantha (Rose McIver) and Jay Arondekar (Utkarsh Ambudkar), along with themany spirits inhabiting their home, concluded in May. During the season finale,Patience appeared in the basement of Woodstone, surprising Isaac and quickly pulling him away.
In a recent interview withEW, Wiseman revealed more information about Patience. He explained that Holland’s character was once excluded from her Puritan home and that she resents Isaac for deserting her. Patience is a Puritan, who traditionally were very judgmental and strict, and she was actually kicked out of her village for being a bit too much so, even by their standards. She’s a lot to deal with. Then of course, she’s also angry. She was abandoned to the dirt. Isaac let go of her hand to sneeze and left her alone in the dirt, where she’s been wandering for 130 years or something like that, so she’s a little upset. But she’s going to spend a few episodes at Woodstone and she’s going to sorta mix things up there.

Will Isaac Make Amends For What Happened?
Not much was known about Patience, apart from what happened between her and Isaac. In season 3, episode 8, “Holes Are Bad,” the former military officer recounts being trapped opposite Sasappis (Román Zaragoza) and Thor (Devan Chandler Long). He later acknowledges that Patience was with them, and that he dropped her hand,leaving the Puritan woman confined to the ground near Woodstone.Heading intoGhostsseason 4, Isaac was last seen in the basement, where he was met by Nancy (Betsy Sodaro) and other disgruntled spirits, who turned him over to Patience.
This Ghosts Season 4 Twist Will Change The Entire Series
Ghosts season 4 will add a twist that will completely change Rose McIver and Utkarsh Ambudkar’s dynamic in CBS' supernatural comedy series.
Because Patience is returning in season 4, the comedy will likely continue to explore her relationship with Isaac, and reveal where she took him. Also, considering what Wiseman has said about her past, it will be interesting to see how the deceased Woodstone residents, including Sass and Thor, respond to her presence. Flower (Sheila Carrasco) previously mentioned that Patience would almost exclusively talk about Isaac. Meanwhile, he was hesitant to even bring up her name andone of theGhostsseason 4 photos shows Isaac looking emotional in front of Patience.
Despite not talking about Patience, Isaac’s story and that season 4 image suggest he may feel guilty.
Another question will be whether Isaac can make amends for losing Patience all those years ago. With theGhostsseason 4 premiere right around the corner, it’s worth wondering how difficult Holland’s character might make that for him, and what kind of role she’ll have moving forward, should she linger around beyond her episodes.
