From Season 3: Release Date, Cast, Story, Trailer & Everything We Know
The MGM+ original horror series From has kept viewers on the edge of their seats for two successful seasons so far, and season 3 is on the way.
Screen RantinterviewedHarold Perrineau, who teases more devastation for Boyd Stevens inFromseason 3. He discusses the monsters, how they evolve this season, and what makes them so terrifying. Harold also confesses how he thinks he would handle being in a town like this, and if he would step into a leadership role like Boyd does.

Boyd Can Never Catch A Break In From Season 3
“He gets what you think is a victory, and not only is it not a victory, it’s maybe the biggest loss yet.”
Screen Rant: This season the creatures are really upping their game. They like to mess with Boyd in particular. Can you talk about that?
Harold Perrineau: Yeah, I’ve been telling people, it feels like Boyd keeps going like, “I’m going to get this done. You’re not going to break me.” And then they just kick him in the privates. It’s like, “Wow. You guys suck. This town sucks. I hate you to hell.” I think that they just keep messing with him. It’s really, really bad. I think he’s doing the best that he can living in the meanest place around. I feel bad for him. He gets a little, what you think is, a victory. And not only is it not a victory, it’s maybe the biggest loss yet. Because the next thing that happens is just gigantic. It’s like, this can’t be right.

The Colony and Town Work Together Out Of Necessity In From Season 3
“Once that family showed up, everything went out the window.”
Screen Rant: In season 1, the colony and the town were very separate, but now you are working closely together. Can you talk about how this relationship has evolved?
Harold Perrineau: I feel like everything that happened in the very first couple of episodes has just exploded away. We had two different things. You pick a rock or a flower, and all these things, and it’s just all gone. Once that family showed up, everything went out the window. I remember we erased, oh, 111 days, or something, of peace, and we’ve had zero days of peace since then. Now they have got to figure this thing out together.

What’s really fun and compelling about it is people still have all these different points of view about how to get this done, which is the thing that keeps clashing, which makes them just sort of fumble around, literally, in the dark. How do we get out of here? How do we make this thing work? We can’t do it by ourselves. We have got to try to figure it out together, but then you keep doing that and you keep doing the other thing. I think that’s why people dig it.
Harold Perrineau Teases A New Rift Between Ellis & Boyd In From Season 3
“It was really nice while it lasted,” he reminisces glumly.
Screen Rant: Boyd is getting his relationship with his son Ellis back. How has it been to explore that?
Harold Perrineau: Really nice to explore it for what you see, really good. As soon as you think… That’s how that goes. So it was really nice. You know, while it lasted.

The Monsters In From Are Scary Because They Know They Have The Upper Hand
“They don’t run. They don’t chase you. Because they don’t have to. You’re going to lose.”
Screen Rant: What do you think it is about the monsters in this series that makes them so terrifying?
Harold Perrineau: I think that the thing that’s underlying, and that we may have only mentioned it once, is that they don’t run, they don’t chase you, because they don’t have to, right? You’re going to lose. That’s the underlying rule. That’s what it feels like. And so you would think, because people keep saying, why don’t they kill Boyd? He’s clearly dangerous. It’s like, because they don’t have to. Like, for what? It’s way more fun to keep watching him squirm. Watch, he thinks he’s going to get out of this. Watch, bang, in the privates.

For total fun. For nothing else. And it’s like, just kill the dude, just kill him. And they’re like, nah, we don’t have to. You’re learning more about them. That they can trick you, they can organize. All this other stuff that you didn’t know before. It’s like, yeah, this place sucks.
I mean, the first time I saw them when they changed the face, you’re like, “Are you okay?” It’s insane. It’s wild. It’s wild.

Screen Rant: What is it like for you on set? It must be so much fun sometimes.
Harold Perrineau: We have a good time because you kind of have to. Those guys, when they’re creatures, I just feel bad for them. We try to make jokes all day because those prosthetics and costumes, it just looks uncomfortable and I imagine it is. They have to be led around because they only have one little part of the thing that they can see through and it’s dark.
We did it in the winter this year, and it’s freezing. So they’re shivering. We attempt to have as much fun as we can because otherwise it would just be really, really miserable. The night stuff that you see in episode one, you have no idea how cold, like I’m from New York, it is crazy how cold it was. It was crazy. Every time we have to take off our jacket and start shooting, it’s just like, this is a joke, right? Wait, he runs out into the night? What is he thinking?
From’s Harold Would Not Step Into A Leadership Role Unless He Needed To
“Sometimes you meet people, and they just have to be the leader. I’m never that guy.”
Screen Rant: If you were in a town like this, do you think you would take on a leadership role like Boyd has?
Harold Perrineau: I’m such an independent thinker, but I would if I had to. Do you know what I mean? Sometimes you meet people, and they just have to be the leader, and you’re like, okay, you go ahead. I’m never that guy. But I feel like I lead by example. So I feel like I would be like Boyd, always searching, always searching, always trying to find the way. Always like, “How do I make the next move? What’s the next step? How do I get out of here?” Not just for me. How do I take my family out of here? I think I would do that. If I was the leader and I had to be, I’d do it. But if I wasn’t, I wouldn’t be worried about it.
