To little surprise,Monster Hunter Wildshas brought back the recurring, stat-boosting inventory weights in the Armorcham and Powercharm. Existing in nearly every singleMonster Hunterentry, the Powercharm and Armorcharm are items that boost the attack and defense, respectively, of the hunter. InWilds, these items are completely free, but require the completion of a corresponding high-rank side quest.

Though the means of obtaining them are simple, there is almost zero indication that the quests offer the charms as an award. Making matters worse, at the quest’s completion, there is almost no indication that the charms were received, leading many players to have these stat-boosting items sitting lost in the item box.

How To Get Armorcharm (Secure Wounded Hollow Quest Walkthrough)

An Essential Item For Passive Defense

The Armorcharm is the first available of the pair. In order to receive the Armorcharm, you’ll need to complete the quest: Secure Wounded Hollow. The quest is accepted from the guild hunter, Cobb, in Suja, but be advised that it requires you to be at least HR 16. Completing the questrequires slaying two Hirabami in theWilds’arena map: Wounded Hollow.

How To Upgrade Weapons & Armor In Monster Hunter Wilds

Weapons and armor in Monster Hunter Wilds can be upgraded, either through direct improvements or by following crafting trees to make your best gear.

Unlike other quests where two monsters are required, because of this one’s location in the Wounded Hollow, the monsters will stay in proximity to each other. Dung pods are simply not an option here, making Secure Wounded Hollow a challenge that may require some quickupgrades to your weapons and armor inMonster Hunter Wilds. At the quest’s completion, simply head to your item box and locate the newly received Armorcharm.Be sure toplace the Armorcharm in your item pouch, and leave it there permanently. The item only bestows its stat-boosting effect while it’s placed within the pouch.

How To Get Powercharm (As Gatekeeper Quest Walkthrough)

A Difficult Duo Worth Defeating

Luckily, the Powercharm quest follows nearly the exact same structure. It is similarly received from the guild hunter, Cobb, in Suja, and requires slaying another tag-team threat in the Wounded Hollow. Accepting the quest, named As Gatekeeper, requires a higher HR of 21, as well as completing the previous quest, Secure Wounded Hollow.

Both quests give you access to a large, interactive gate. Use the levers at the ends of the gate to lower it and temporarily separate the pair of monsters.

This quest is even more difficult than its predecessors, as the required Ajarakan’s are a much more threatening duo. This fiery pair becomes easier whenplaying with friends or lobby members inMonster Hunter Wilds, but otherwise,be sure to bring Ice or Water element weapons and slinger ammoto assist in the fight. Once again, after completing the quest, head to an item box to move the Powercharm into your hunter pouch, activating the charm’s bonus to the attack stat.

Monster Hunter Wilds: The Best Weapon Tree To Invest In First

The Weapon Tree can be confusing to new Monster Hunter players, but there’s one clear branch you should always invest materials in first.

Unlike some other Monster Hunter entries, there are currently no additional charms inWilds.Thankfully, the Armorcharm and Powercharm are the only inventory-bloating items currently inMonster Hunter Wilds, but of course, the slight annoyance of the items occupying inventory space will always be worth itfor the bonus stats.
