I believeSister WivesstarMeri Brown should leave the show after the current season, especially with the way she’s showing a brand-new side to herself in the most recent episodes. As Kody Brown’s first wife and the first woman who agreed to the plural marriage that ultimately crumbled beneath them, Meri’s always been one of the most interesting people on the show. Throughout the run ofSister Wives, she’s been open and honest about her thoughts on the family, her relationship with Kody, and the public perception ofSister Wivesas a series, especially duringSister Wivesseason 19.
While Meri’s behavior has been changing through the years, her time onSister Wiveshas likely been the most transformative of her life. Meri and Kody welcomedtheir only child, Leon Brown, in 1995, but outside of her journey into motherhood,Meri’s gone through one of the biggest transformations of her life in recent years. After her infamous catfishing scandal took both Meri andSister Wivesviewers by storm, she was able to pick up the pieces of her life and rebuild, but Meri’s marriage to Kody continued to suffer asSister Wivescontinued focusing on the large Brown family.

DuringSister Wivesseason 18, following on the heels of their fellow sister wife Christine Brown, Meri and Janelle Brown had different breaking points with Kody after years of struggle. While Kody and Janelle’s relationship crumbled after a difficult argument, Meri tried to hold out hope that something would change between her and her husband. Despite knowing that she wanted to move forward with or without Kody and Robyn Brown in her corner,Meri didn’t want to be the one who left. When she and Kody agreed to split, it changedSister Wivesforever, and Meri’s a whole new woman.
Meri Brown Has Changed After Leaving Kody Brown
She’s Being Herself Unapologetically
Meri’s decision to leave Kody at the end ofSister Wivesseason 18 wasn’t easy, but it wasthe culmination of issues that she’d been having in her marriage for over a decade. FromKody legally divorcing Meri so he could remarryRobyn and adopt her children to the struggle to find her way back to a place of trust after her catfishing scandal, Meri has been through more than anyone will ever know in her marriage with Kody. Throwing that away, or at least moving forward without it, likely seemed like one of the heaviest burdens she could bear.
20 Best Reality TV Shows Right Now
Reality TV is more popular than ever. With so many to choose from, here are some of the best reality TV shows to stream or watch right now.
While viewers saw a new side ofMerithroughoutSister Wivesseason 18, the new season of the series has shown a totally different Meri. Unapologetically herself as usual, Meri now has the confidence to say what she wants whenever she wants to, and seems to feel comfortable sharing exactly what she’s thinking. Without the repercussions of having to think about whether or not her thoughts and feelings will be hurtful to Kody, Robyn, or anyone else in the Brown family, Meri’s independence shines through. Her behavior onSister Wivesseason 19shows a changed Meri who’s embracing her life.

Meri’s Independence Is Refreshing For Viewers
She Was Stuck Under Kody’s Thumb For Years
AlthoughMeri has always had an independent spirit, she’s often had to tamp herself down because of how others have reacted to her behavior. Kody’s been someone in Meri’s life who has unfortunately kept her down, though at times it wasn’t in a way she was opposed to. With Meri being able to speak her mind and exert her independence living alone in Utah,it’s clear that she’s doing a great job finding herself again after years trapped in a loveless marriage. Meri’s independence is refreshing to watch, as it’s always been clear it’s there, but is wonderful to see.
Meri Should Leave Sister Wives After Season 19
She Needs To Move Forward
AfterSister Wivesseason 19 finally ends, I thinkMeri needs to move on from the showand find another platform to share her thoughts. While Meri’s a great part ofSister Wives, her time on the series is far more isolated than the rest of the family at the moment, and without much change in her future, it will likely remain that way. Watching Meri on her own is enjoyable, butI think she’d be better served on a show of her own, rather than being stuck with a family she doesn’t feel like she has a place in.
Meri’s time onSister Wivesis always exciting, but with one chapter of her life coming to a close and another just beginning, it would be a great time for her to leave the series behind. WithMeri and Kody’s marriage endingand her new life rooting itself away from the rest of the Brown family, it’s clear thatshe’s ready to be on her own. Meri should listen to the changes that have already happened and take the plunge to leaveSister Wivesbehind.
