In The Lost Landsis an adaptation of thestory by George R.R. Martin, who is most known as the author ofGame of Thrones. Paul WS Anderson directs and his wife, Milla Jovovich, stars opposite Bautista. The movie follows the sorceress Gray Alys (Jovovich) who has been sent on a mission by the queen to obtain the power to shape-shift. to travel across the perilous Lost Lands, she enlists the help of a mysterious guide named Boyce (Bautista).

Bautista finds himself having chemistry with a lot of the women as Boyce in this movie. Multiple women. In multiple scenes. Basically, any woman he crosses paths with. “I’ve never been that guy,” he explains, “I’ve never been the cool lead who gets the girl.”

Boyce is not just a ladies man, he is a lot like a gunslinger, which is exciting to see considering thatIn The Lost Landsis a fantasy action movie. Bautista claims, “That was the immediate appeal when I read the script because I did see it like that. This is just a Western to me. I saw Boyce as a gunslinger.” He details that in talking to Paul WS Anderson about the character and how he saw him, he was told that Anderson wanted Boyce to “look and feel and be sexy and sleek and mysterious.”
“It was like, man, all those are all my trigger words,” Bautista jokes. “No, but I really looked at this and I thought immediately Clint Eastwood, squinty eyes, very soft spoken, and a man of few words.” He plays Boyce as very mysterious, adding, “That’s the way I approached it.”

Having her husband directing that could get awkward, but Bautista reveals that it was anything but: “It wasn’t [awkward] because nobody made it awkward. Nobody made it uncomfortable.”

Paul W. S. Anderson reveals that author George R. R. Martin had a very praiseworthy reaction to his upcoming fantasy adaptation, In The Lost Lands.
“It was just another day at work,” Bautista says. “Everybody was just very matter of fact about it. We’re going to do this, and we’re going to have a kiss.” He explains that “it was another piece of the scene.” He goes on to talk about how it was comfortable working with Paul WS Anderon and Milla Jovovich, “so no, it wasn’t weird at all and nobody made it weird.” Bautista claims, “That’s when it becomes uncomfortable is when people make it weird. It just wasn’t a big deal.”
“We didn’t think overthink about it,” Bautista adds. “If we needed to do it again, we did it again, and then we moved on.”
