OneStardew Valleyplayer realized that sometimes taking the fast route home can come with dire consequences, as they ended up trapped on their own farm. Totems are meant to make traveling to specific locations in the game much faster, but what happens when a player forgets to clear the way and has no tools on them? This fan found out the hard way that there is only one way out from this exact scenario.

In a recent Reddit post, awkwardgodessdiscusses how their quickest option to get home became their worst nightmare. Having put their ax in a chest before embarking on a journey for the day, they used a totem from the beach to get back to the farm, only to realize they had never cleared the pathway in front of the totem’s location.

Stardew Valley Player Gets Completely Trapped With No Way Out

When A Lazy Way Home Goes Very Wrong

While using a totem to get back home is rarely an issue, awkwardgodess just so happened to leave their ax behind, meaning they could not clear out the farm’s return point, which had a piece of wood blocking their path home. Since there was no way to remove the debris from their path, that meant there was only one option;pass out and hope they don’t lose any of their items after the fact.

Stardew Valley Player Discovers One Of The Scariest Moments In The Entire Game

After making a grim decision, one unfortunate Stardew Valley player shares the moment they discovered the horrifying consequences of their actions.

Of course, they would also have to pay a few fees given they passed out in the middle of their homestead and were in need of rescuing, but luckilypassing on the farm is a bit different from dying in combat.Comments on the post share their similar experiences and tell others that everything will be fine if they happen to make the same mistake, as passing out is the best option in this scenario.

Our Take: Concerned Ape Gives Mild Consequences For Player’s Actions

Even The Most Simple Mistakes Have Consequences

The creator ofStardew Valley,ConcernedApe, really did think of everything when it came to the consequences of players' actions in the title. As one commenter on the thread, known asAlradas, pointed out,the consequences of passing out from exhaustion could have been much worse. They state,“Then starting year to the penalty is so low… Who cares about 1k. I just spent 500k in bombs to rush desert cave, I wouldn’t even have noticed the 1k missing was it not for the sound and animation, haha.”

While getting stuck on your farm is never fun or ideal, it isn’t the end of the world. I myself have ended up getting stuck in some wild predicaments over the years of different saves and farms, and passing out early on really doesn’t cause too much trouble. Some players even decide to pass out at 2 am on purpose early on to make the most of their early farming days. Next time, though, we are willing to bet thisparticularStardewValleyplayer won’t leave their tools behind in a chest, just in case.
