IEM Katowice 2025 format and teams

IEM Katowice 2025 was a 24-team VRS-ranked event. The teams were all invited based on their ranking and seeding accordingly: the top eight invites awaited the eight that survive the play-in, while eight more packed their bags early. Each play-in team got two lives: land two wins, and they were in the group stage. Lose two, and they were gone.

The top six from the group stage headed to the playoffs, with the top team in each group skipping the quarterfinals. All matches at IEM Katowice 2025 were best-of-three (including the play-in), with the grand final a best-of-five. VRS points and a massive $400,000 USD prize awaited the champion.
