Quick Links
Ancient Relics are among the most important recurring collectibles inIndiana Jones and the Great Circle. There’s a set of them located in each of the game’s major, free-roaming maps, including a set of ten in the Vatican. Ancient Relics are apparently worthless when you first start collecting them (although finding all 50may unlock a secret ending), but they are a lot of fun to find. Each relic has unique unlock conditions or a well-concealed hiding place, and although the game does provide you with a map to help guide your search, you’ll need your wits about you to find them.
Finding all the artifacts in a particular area can also be rewarding, as each set of relics is associated with a “Riddles of the Ancients” quest. Once you complete it, you’ll receive a few Adventure Points, which you’re able to spend onunlocking skill books to level Indy up. If nothing else, hunting for Relics is a great way to explore the game’s maps, getting to know its pivotal locations, and maybe picking up on some history along the way. Here’s how to find all the Ancient Relics during the Vatican section ofIndiana Jones and the Great Circle.

How To Find Every Ancient Relic In The Vatican
Ancient Relic #1: Beneath The Library
This is the first Ancient Relic you’re likely to find as you explore the Vatican, and it’s pretty hard to miss. While working on the main quest “The Stolen Cat Mummy,” you’ll unlock a secret passage beneath the Vatican library using the amulet the giant left behind. Once you reach the end of that passage, you’ll encounter a skeletal body hunched over a desk. You’ll then need to head around the large, circular shelving unit in the center of the room, whereyou’ll find the first Ancient Relic sitting on a table in the corner of the room.
Ancient Relic # 2: Beyond The Sacred Wounds
A little further along in the main quest, you’ll need to solve a series of puzzles to enter a long-hidden ruin beneath the Tower of Nicholas V. Again, this section is part of the main quest, so it’s hard to miss.
If you’re ever having trouble with a puzzle, take pictures of its elements using Indy’s camerato get some extra hints.

Once you’ve solved the puzzle, continue along the quest pathway until you enter the Necropolis. Use Indy’s whip to descend into the chasm you find inside, dropping down into a narrow passageway a short way down. Walk a short distance forward, andyou’ll find the second Ancient Relic lying on the ground.
Ancient Relic #3: The Necropolis
Immediately after finding the previous Ancient Relic, jump down into the pool of water immediately in front of Indy. Swim until you hit dry land andfollow the linear path until you come upon a crack in the wall with water dripping out of it.
You’ll need a lit torch on the other side of that crack to find the next relic, but of course, the water will put it out if you try to walk through it. So instead, turn left, and follow that linear path until you find a smaller, raised hole in the wall, and throw a lit torch through it. Return to the crack in the wall with water dripping from it, walk through, grab your lit torch from earlier, and continue ahead. You’ll eventually come upon a door boarded up;use the torch to burn the blockage away and grab your next Ancient Relic.

Ancient Relic #4: Busting Down Doors
Continue further into the ruins, opening the gate to the left of the previous Relic. After heading down the narrow ramp, crouch to enter the small passage to the right, heading into a larger, more open room. This area is crawling with Blackshirts, so you’ll either need to sneak or be prepared for a fight. Note the door on the right side of the room, just before the staircase leading down into the next area. Find a safe path over to it, and head through.
Indiana Jones And The Great Circle Review: Already A Priceless Artifact
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle valiantly attempts to recapture what makes the movies special, and like Indy himself, it usually lands on its feet.
Follow the path upstairs, then turn left, heading across the catwalk. Turn right on the other side and head into the room with an Antique Bust. Place the bust on the pedestal in the corner of the room near the closed gate, andit’ll open a doorway to the next Ancient Relic.

Ancient Relic #5: Climbing The Rafters
After grabbing the previous artifact, move the Antique Bust back onto the original pedestal to open a different door in the same room. Head through it, following the path and passing beneath a collapsed column. On the other side, look up to find a whip hook spot. Climb up to the rafter, then look up again to find another whip hook spot, and repeat. Jump up into the next room and head through the doorway into a small open chamber with a skeleton andthe next Ancient Relic inside.
Ancient Relic #6: More Busts & Pedestals
From the previous Ancient Relic spot, turn around and head down the spiral staircase in a corner of this room. Pull the chain at the bottom to open the gate, then continue down the path to find a small hole you’re able to crawl through.
Can You Keep Playing Indiana Jones & The Great Circle After Beating It?
It’s not strange to wonder if you can keep playing Indiana Jones And The Great Circle After Beating It, but the answer should please many players.
On the other side, head left past the gate to find a small room containing two Antique Busts. Pick one of them up, leaving the other on the pedestal, and take it to another pedestal next to the gate, which will then open. Inside, grab the mace, and use it to smash the cracked wall to the right. Pick up another Antique Bust, thencarry it to the pedestal in the previous room to open the path to the next Ancient Relic. That does it for the Ancient Relics in these underground ruins.

Ancient Relic #7: The Fountain Of Confession
After solvingthe Fountain of Confession puzzle, head down the two spiral staircases that appear behind the fountain. At the bottom, walk forward and into the corridor on the right. Shortly after you walk through, you’ll trigger a trapdoor that drops you down onto a lower level. Follow the path and climb back up using the broken columns, then jump across, avoiding both sets of spinning blades.
Enter the large room on the other side, then turn around, head up the stairs, and pull the lever on the right. Go through the door that just opened, and continue on until you see a small crack in the wall. Crouch and crawl through it. Pick up the Antique Bust and put it on the pedestal, then crawl back through the gap. This should open a door in the previous room;you’ll find an Ancient Relic inside.

Ancient Relic #8: The Fountain Of Confession, Part 2
Head down the staircases behind the Fountain of Confession again, just like you did last time, but don’t trigger the trapdoor. Follow the path until you come to the room full of spinning, swinging blades. Jump left across the first set of platforms. But when you come to the second set, instead of jumping across, note the small platform on the left side. Drop onto it, and then head forwards tofind the next Ancient Relic on a crumbling column.
Ancient Relic #9: The Secret Monastery
The next Relic is found within the Secret Monastery, after completing the Silver and Gold Dragon Paths, in a small side room off the large treasure room. Once you find your way in as part of the main quest, Gina will head off to the right and start lockpicking a door. Once it’s open, head inside and to the back right corner, whereyou’ll find the Ancient Relic lying on a shelf alongside a row of books.
Ancient Relic #10: The Secret Of Giants
to find the final Ancient Relic, you’ll need to complete the sidequest “The Secret of Giants,” finding and photographing all ten inscriptions hidden around the Vatican. Return to Antonio afterward, and he’ll give you the Ancient Relic as your reward. The inscriptions can be found in the following locations:
And with that, you’ll have all ten Ancient Relics from the Vatican map in hand. You’ll know when you’ve collected all of them, as the related quest will complete. Don’t worry if you haven’t collected all of them before moving on; there are no points of no return inIndiana Jones and the Great Circle, so you can always come back later.
