The sequence in the teaser hints that Gi-hun might end up playing the games again, which would fit with theNetflix’s official synopsis, which says that he “once again dives into the mysterious survival game, starting another life-or-death game with new participants gathered to win the prize of 45.6 billion won.”
Though Gi-Hun could dive back into the game in many ways, the teaser trailer for Squid Game season 2 hints that his joining the mysterious survival game will occur through him being a contestant. If so, the Front Man showing up to take him there fits perfectly with theend ofSquid Gameseason 1– when he calls the number on the card – and thefirst footage ofSquid Gameseason 2– where he threatens to find the black-masked man.
