One of the most interesting powers introduced to theOne Piecefranchise is undoubtedly theConqueror’s Haki. This technique, which marks its users as worthy of being kings, gives those fortunate enough to be born with it a massive boost in both power and ability. Due to how rare it is for someone to have access to it, many fans have believed for years that Luffy is the only Straw Hat who can use it.
Yet,One Piece’s newly released official Birthday Card reveals that this is not the case, asZoro was also born with this skill. This revelation puts an end to the long debate about whether the green-haired swordsman is able to use this ability or not. While shocking to some, many fans had already seen this coming, as the pirate had used the technique several times, despite never being named Conqueror’s Haki.

Zoro Becomes the Second Straw Hat With Conqueror’s Haki
Official Merchandise Puts Any Doubts About the Issue To Rest
Conqueror’s Haki is perhaps the rarest and most impressive technique aOne Piececharacter can obtain. Thanks to this evasive ability, a fighter can impose their will onto others, making them unable to attack or outright knocking them down. Nonetheless, seeing as the series was established early on that onlythe strongest fighters ever can master this ability, many fans doubted that anyone among the Straw Hats, but Luffy, was able to access it. This discussion has finally been resolved, thanks tothe upcoming 2025 Birthday Cardsthat will be released on Sunday, August 08, 2025.
This visually stunning merch is a fun collectible withimages and fun facts about Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, and Shanks. On the back of the cards, information about the characters can be read, including the types of Haki they have official access to. Zoro’s card contains a reference to the use of Conqueror’s Haki, officially confirming that the character can use the technique without any aid. While the series had already implied this was the case, a part of the fandom was still unsure about Luffy’s right-hand man having been born with the ability, which will no longer be the case.

Zoro’s Conqueror’s Haki Does Not Come From Enma
Oden’s Will Did Not Give Him Access to the Technique
In chapter #1010 of theOne Piecemanga, Zoro is alone fighting against Kaido on the roof of Onigashima, protecting an unconscious Luffy. Desperate to end the fight quickly, the swordsman uses his most powerful attack, his Nine Sword Style Ashura. Nonetheless, without realizing it, Zoro seems to have awakened his Conqueror’s Haki during this moment, with his swords and body being covered by the energy of his soul. This attack left a nasty scar on Kaido’s chest, an impressive feat considering he was amongthe strongest characters in the series.
The former Yonko even congratulated Zoro, asking if he too had access to Conqueror’s Haki, something the swordsman had never heard about. While this seems to be definitive proof of the green-haired man having access to the ability, many fans remained skeptical, claiming that he was only able to use itthanks to Oden’s presence, imprinted on his sword Enma. Even when Zoro later displayed the same Haki in the fights against King and Lucci, some fans still believed that it was only due to the sword.
Still, this argument is no longer valid as the Birthday Cards make it clear thatZorois a natural-born user of Conqueror’s Haki. Years later, theOne Piecefranchise put this debate to rest in an unexpected but welcomed manner.
