One of the coolest props fromSuicide Squadis currently up for auction at a staggering price. The 2016 film was hit or miss with mostDCfans as people either loved it for what it was or hated it as a start to the franchise. There wereproblems with characterization and pacing, but something that the film at least had going for it was being visually interesting to look at. The over-the-top nature of the Suicide Squad as a team lent itself well to flashy costumes and props, and a lot of neat pieces came out of the film.
Jared Leto’s Joker was probably themost divisive character in the cast, both because of things that happened behind the scenes as well as the actual portrayal of the villain himself. However, the character provided us with one of the coolest props in the filmwith his custom car, the Jokermobile. It only appeared briefly in one chase sequence between Leto’s Joker, Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, and Ben Affleck’s Batman, but its design was striking enough to have fans wanting to bid big money to take it home.

The Starting Bid Is USD 20,000
Leto’s Jokermobile fromSuicide Squadis currently up for auction on the websiteProp Store Auction. The pink, purple, and gold car is one of two vehicles produced by the studio for the film and features Joker adornments throughout, such as gull-wing doors and a plush white interior. There is also a detail from the movie included with the car, as a puncture at the top of the vehicle’s frame signifies where Harley Quinn tries to shoot Batman during their chase.
Thecurrent starting bid for the Jokermobile is USD 20,000, with a current absentee bid of $22,500 already placed. The item is estimated to eventually sell for a price within the $40,000 and $80,000 range. Bidding for the item will end on December 6 and the live auction will begin at 1 PM PDT that day. It is a hefty price tag, but for a diehard fan of the Suicide Squad who wants this fully functioning vehicle, it may well be worth it.

Leto’s Joker Otherwise Fell Flat
The Joker was undoubtedly the most talked about character to come fromSuicide Squad, and not necessarily in a good way. Leto had big shoes to fill, with his late predecessor Heath Ledger givingan iconic performance as the Joker. Perhaps expectations for his version of the character were too high from the start, but he definitely doesn’t live up to the stellar performance that came before him. Fans even took issue with his actual design, as it wasn’t a particularly good one yet seemed to be the character’s focus instead of actual substance.
Even though Leto’s over-the-top performance was not an exact hit, his character did at least provide us with one of the coolest props from the film. The film’s flashy Jokermobile actually fits the cartoonish designthat they seemed to be going for with Leto’s character while also being a grounded, realistic car that could really exist on our streets. Though the colors are a bit out there, it is a heavily reinterpreted version of the vehicle from the comics that made it blend much more seamlessly into the darker DCEU.

I Hope The Jokermobile Returns In A Future Batman Movie
The Batman Universe Or The DCU Batman Reboot Are Potential Avenues
The version of the Jokermobile as we know it from the auction unfortunately did not make it out ofSuicide Squadin one piece, as the Joker drove it into the river in order to escape from Batman. However, I would love for DC to somehow continue incorporating the Jokermobile into future projects. The car is meant to be the Joker’s version of the Batmobile, and it would be an interesting parallel to have the two cars featured in a future project.
Every Suicide Squad Movie That Didn’t Happen & Why
Over the years, several Suicide Squad movies have been planned in various DC franchises that did not come to fruition for one reason or another.
The Jokermobile that is up for auction is obviously a flashier interpretation of the vehicle that was made to match the vibe ofSuicide Squad. The version from the comics has always been pretty goofy, but DC could bring in another grounded iteration of the vehicle in the future. Whether it is in a film fromThe Batmanuniverse or the upcoming DCUBatmanreboot, we at least have theSuicide Squadprop to appreciate for now and even dream about taking home.
