During a panel at SPACECON San Antonio, Hayden Christensen and Rosario Dawson spoke aboutAnakin Skywalker’sStar Warsreturn in theAhsokashow, including what it felt like for Christensen to receive the call asking him back. Ahsoka Tano and Anakin Skywalker are two ofthe bestStar Warscharacters, and Christensen and Dawson are two of the most beloved actors inStar Warsmovies and TV shows.Until theAhsokashow, however, Christensen and Dawson had yet to play these characters in live-action together.
In a video posted bypriscillawriteson TikTok, Hayden Christensen and Rosario Dawson spoke about their experience working together onAhsoka, and Christensen specifically explained how he felt coming back. After saying that it was"another amazing phone call to get,“Christensen elaborated:
“Life is full of wonder, and sometimes you have to look for it, and then other times it just sort of smacks you, like, right in the face, and this was another one of those times where I was like, ‘Wow, I get to do this with my friend and play these characters together,’ and it was really special.”
It’s clear that Dawson and Christensen were both delighted with Anakin’sStar Warsreturn and with their time together on screen, which was certainly a sentiment shared by many viewers.

Not only did Anakin and Ahsoka finally get to confront their very complex past inthe World Between Worlds, but also, Anakin was revealed to be a Force ghost watching over Ahsoka on Peridea. Perhaps even more than their confrontation in the World Between Worlds, this moment felt like true closure.
When Anakin fell to the dark side and became Darth Vader, there were a number of key relationships that were permanently marred and were genuinely painful to watch fall apart, among them Anakin’s relationships with Obi-Wan Kenobi, Padmé, and even R2-D2.The Clone Warsrevealed that there was yet another relationship that was destroyed because of Anakin’s fall: his bond with his former Padawan, Ahsoka. Knowing that Anakin is a Force ghost and is close by Ahsoka was a comfort, and, equally exciting, it could mean Anakin will appear inAhsokaseason 2.

Our Take On Anakin Skywalker’s Unexpected Return
This Was The Perfect Return For Hayden Christensen
As Christensen mentioned in the panel, Anakin’s return in theAhsokashow gave him (and viewers) a little bit of everything. Not only was Christensen finally shown as live-action Clone Wars-era Anakin, but also, he played Darth Vader both in and out of the iconic Vader suit.Getting to see Christensen return to the role and play both sides of the Force was truly gratifying, especially as a major fan of the prequel trilogy.
It’s also simply wonderful to see how much Christensen still loves the character, the franchise, and any opportunity to return to the role. There are so many actors who clearly have a genuine love forStar Warsand for the character(s) they played, and it’s always heartwarming to hear them express fondness for the franchise—something that Christensen, along with otherStar Warsactors like Ahmed Best and Ewan McGregor, continues to do. I am in complete agreement with Hayden Christensen thatAnakin Skywalker’sreturn in theAhsokashow was a wonder.
