Marvel Comicsis launching a villain-centric event this summer, asBring On the Bad Guysis set to upset the balance of power among the House of Ideas’ rogues. The new event features Mephisto seeking souls to power an ancient artifact known as the Soul Forge, with none other than Doctor Doom standing in his way, along with a host of other noted Marvel antagonists.
As reported by BleedingCool.com, the crossover event, named after Stan Lee’s 1975 book focused on Marvel’s villains,Bring On the Bad Guyswill be a seven-part series. Kicking off with theBring On the Bad Guys: Doomone-shot – written by Marc Guggenheim, with art by Stefano Raffaelle – the series will continue with one-shots from superstar creative teams that focus on Green Goblin, Abomination, Loki, Red Skull, Dormammu and Mephisto.

In addition to Marvel’s biggest villains, the event will also introduce a mysterious new villain:Sister Sorrow, who is set to play a pivotal role throughout the event.

The original became important to an entire generation of fans, as that was the only chance many of them got to read the classic comics contained therein. Cover artist Mike McKone pays homage toJohn Romita, Sr.’scover to the original collection, bringing the project full circle with the perfect homage depicting all of Marvel’s classic villains.
