Monster Hunter Wildshas been the most explosively successful launch in the series yet, with updates showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Aiding the excitement of upcoming content, the latest showcase was filled with highly requested features missing from the base game, on top of some worthwhile additions to offer a new challenge toWilds' post-game content. While the title update didn’t address every concern over the current state of the game, a public message fromWilds' Game Director Yuyu Tokuda offers some of the best changes toWildsso far.
Despite the wave of excitement thatMonster Hunter Wilds' first title update showcase generated, the large additions also caused some understandable frustration given the ongoing performance issues and bugs still present inWilds. Thankfully, with how massively successfulWildscontinues to be whileshattering even more milestones,Capcom will likely have plenty of resources to put towards both fixingWilds' current problems and adding new content simultaneously. Even though it’s still a few months before all ofWilds' promised features make their way to the game, there’s plenty of content to enjoy in the meantime.

Wilds Is Already Off To A Great Start By Listening To Community Feedback
Most Of Wilds' Highly Requested Features Are Already On The Way
Capcom has had a good reputation in theMonster HunterCommunity when it comes to delivering high-quality content to keep players engaged after launch, with the latestMonster Hunter Wildsbeing no exception to the rule. Rather than ignoring the feedback from players and focusing on brand-new content,Wilds' developers are already planning to implement several highly requested features, ranging from simple quality-of-life improvements to some much-needed gameplay changes.
Everything Coming In Monster Hunter Wilds' Title Update 1
Everything coming to Monster Hunter Wilds in its first title update, including new monsters, a new gathering hub, and a returning quest type.
The most relieving change to hear comes from new performance improvements, and rather than putting out a basic statement regarding the issues,Tokuda’s letteroutlined specific fixes related to"a reduction in VRAM usage"that aims to improve performance across the board for PC players. On top of these work-in-progress fixes,Wilds' developers also acknowledged the frustration that its overdesigned menus and multiplayer functionality often cause, with updates on the way"to curate an even smoother gameplay experience" -Tokuda.

With the wide array of features already present inWilds, it’s not too surprising that some mechanics were left behind from previous entries.
Given that many of the new updates coming toMonster Hunter Wildshave come so far in such a short time, it’s likely that they were already in progress long before release, with these upcoming changes being more of a reaction to player demand. With the wide array of features already present inWilds, it’s not too surprising some mechanics were left behind from previous entries, ormissed their full potential. Thankfully, one feature I was most disappointed to see absent in the most recent showcase is finally making its way toWilds, that being the addition of layered weapons.

Layered Weapons Fix My Biggest Complaint With Monster Hunter Wilds
Artian Weapons Are Some Of Wilds' Weakest Weapon Designs
Given how significantly powerful Artian weapons are, and the reduced amount of time needed to craft them compared to farming out individual monster parts each time, they’ve become a core aspect ofMonster Hunter Wilds’end-game content. While there’s no doubt that the sheer power of Artian weapons makes them a fun addition to use inWilds, Artian weapons' strange designs often leave a lot to be desired. While the PC version received mods to fix the issue not long after release,it’s great to finally have official functionality that pairs perfectly with the newly expanded layered armor systems.
Tokuda’s letter also outlined several smaller balance changes that aim to create a more consistent combat experience, including buffing weapons like the Hammer, and Nerfing the powerful Corrupted Mantle.

While there’s no official date for when layered weapons will return, creating fashionable gear sets has offered anew purpose for its endgamethat will be taken to a whole new level on their release. Although some of the Artian weapon designs had interesting designs with unique effects, it felt like a strange choice to have them overpower the excellently designed monster weapons the franchise is so well known for.
Monster Hunter Wilds Might Finally Achieve Its Full Potential With These Updates
Adding Almost Everything I Wanted From A New Monster Hunter Entry
While I’ve been having a blast withMonster Hunter Wildssince its release, it’s hard to deny the claims thatWildscould have benefitted from a bit more time in development, especially after seeing the first title update showcase. Even if it was concerning to see vital features missing at launch, the delayed release of the upcoming gathering hub, arena quests, Palico chefs, and more fit better within the lore ofWilds.Unlike previous entries, your hunter is the very first member of the guild to explore the Forbidden Lands, with little room or time to set up any that you may have grown accustomed to in previous entries.
After Seeing Monster Hunter Wilds' Grand Hub In The Free Update, 100 Person Lobbies Makes Sense
Monster Hunter Wilds' showed of its first Free Title Update, including a Gathering Hub which will help 100 person lobbies make sense.
On top of the greater level of comfort and socialization options,Wildshasn’t been ignoring its difficulty concerns either, with 8-star-tempered versions of Arkveld, Gore Magala, and the rest of the Apex monsters following shortly after therelease of the Arch-tempered Arkveld. While it may not compare to many of the larger changes discussed,Wildsis also adding an in-game list of all the endemic life you’ve collected, giving me hope that Capcom will add a place to display them before too long.

Regardless of how long it will take to reach the full potential ofMonster Hunter Wilds, these changes are a great sign for the future of the game, helpingWildslive up to the expectations the franchise has built up over the years. After seeing all the changes coming in the first title update and subsequent patches, it seems Capcom will finally offer the definitiveMonster Hunter Wildsexperience that was promised on release, with even more content on the way in the coming years.
