The2023 Mid-Season Invitationalhas now entered the bracket stage portion of the tournament. With the play-in stage out of the way, it is now best-of-fives for the remainder of the tournament. The first match sees G2 vs Gen.G in a battle between two League of Legends powerhouses.

This series is seen as one of the closer best-of-fives in the first round of the bracket stage. While they are no longer the 2019 G2, this EMEA squad still possesses players who can challenge the best in the world. Rasmus “Caps” Borregaard Winther and Mihael “Mikyx” Mehle were part of the famous G2 roster that took the world by storm. They have been there and done it against LCK squads in the past, it’s up to them if they are to progress in the upper bracket.
In this light, Gen.G is being slightly overlooked based on G2’s historical dominance. Gen.G are the best team in the LCK and the grand-finals showcased just how good they are. The LCK squad dominated rivals T1 in a clean 3-0 sweep. This will be international fans' first glimpse at the Gen.G roster since the LCK finals.
