A Knight of the Seven Kingdomsstar Dexter Sol Ansell shares that filming has wrapped in a new video. Ansell plays Egg, who is actually Aegon V Targaryen, in the upcomingGame of Thronesspinoff series that adapts George R.R. Martin’sTales of Dunk and Eggnovellas.A Knight of the Seven Kingdom’s castalso features Peter Claffey in the role of Ser Duncan the Tall, with the spinoff following the adventures of the duo who become pivotal in Westeros' history.

Ansellshared the video on Instagram, where he revealed thatproduction has wrapped after several months of filmingA Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, and bid farewell to Belfast, Northern Ireland, where the filming took place. Check out the video below:

Ansell refers to the production as"a few wonderful months"and turns around to the city behind him and cheerfully says,“Bye bye, Belfast. See you soon. It’s a wrap.“He can be seen holding a framed drawing of Dunk and Egg that is shown in greater detail toward the end of the video.

Post-Production Begins As The Spinoff Moves Toward A 2025 Release

With filming completed and one of the spinoff’s principal stars heading home,A Knight of the Seven Kingdomsis officially entering the post-production phase. Season 1 of the series was previously announced to be released in late 2025, and there should be no issue meeting that release date now that post-production has begun. In a video teasing their upcoming slate after theHouse of the Dragonseason 2 ending, HBO showed the first footage of Claffey and Ansell in their respective roles as Dunk and Egg.

Ansell’s"See you soon"comment is a nod to the fact thatA Knight of the Seven Kingdomsis planned to have more than one seasonin order to adapt Martin’s fullDunk and Eggtrilogy. Previously,Martin confirmed theGame of Thronesspinoff will be differentbecause it"will be a lot shorter than Game of Thrones or House of the Dragon, with a much different tone.“Ansell’s time as Egg is only just beginning, as he will continue to play the role in future seasons.

Only about a month into the long wait forHouse of the Dragonseason 3, it is comforting to know that anotherGame of Thronesspinoff is making steady progress.It is also heartwarming to see Ansell’s enthusiasmand to hear how excited he is to be part of this project and to continue being part of it. The brief footage of him as Egg was an intriguing tease, but it was wonderful to hear the actor’s voice and to see him be one of the main faces ofA Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.
