A new poster forNosferatuhas offered the best look yet at Bill Skarsgård’s terrifying vampire, teasing what to expect from Robert Eggers' remake. TheupcomingNosferatumovieis a remake of the 1922 silent German film of the same name, which itself was an unofficial adaptation of Bram Stoker’sDracula. Since then, the film has become a horror classic, best known for introducing the idea that vampires can become injured when exposed to sunlight. The remake was previously announced in 2015, with Eggers (The Witch,The Lighthouse) attached to write and direct.
Now,Letterboxdhas released a new poster forNosferatu,showing Skarsgård as the vampire Count Orlok, submerged in shadow. Though his face is obscured by darkness, a beam of light from the top left reveals his claw-like hands and large jacket. Parts of his head can also be seen, including what looks to be hair combed to the side and deep eye sockets. Check out the new poster below:

While this glimpse at Skarsgård’s Orlok is very brief, his figure being enveloped in darkness coupled with his long claws and cape highlight how much of a mysterious threat he’s going to be. Since the original pulled so much fromDracula, it’s possibleNosferatuwill do the same, perhaps aligning it more with Stoker’s novel in the process. For now, though, this menacing rendition of the vampire is the perfect introduction to the character before the film hits theaters on December 25.
