In the segment explaining the planning and production phases of anime-making, Chang tells viewers to check out his documentary on “the making ofTanya the Evilseason 2, coming out in 2026”. This documentary is still not available on his channel, so it’s likely that Chang simply made a mistake regarding the timing these videos would be published.

Like many other successful isekai series,The Saga of Tanya the Evilbegan as a light novel series, written by Carlo Zen. It received an anime series, produced by NUT, which aired in 2017, witha sequel movie coming out in 2019.A second season was announced in 2021, but until now no news of its production or release date had been revealed.
The series stands out in the isekai genre for its premise of an atheist dying and refusing to accept the existence of a “God” who reveals to him after his demise (just like in many other isekai). The protagonist is condemned by this divine being to be reincarnated in the body of a young girl in a world inspired by World War I where magic mixes with technology, and with an extra curse: if Tanya will die of non-natural causes, she will be condemned to suffer in “hell” for eternity. Hence, she becomes a ruthless and efficient soldier to avoid a violent death in a world at war.
Hopefully, this honest mistake won’t mean that Dong Chang will stop posting videos on his channel, as they are a true gem for anyone who is interested in the “behind the scenes” aspect of anime.
