Fans ofOne Piecewere recently caught off guard when Manga Plus unexpectedly changed the release date for the upcoming chapter, but fortunately, Shōnen Jump’s editorial team has finally come out and cleared the confusion, confirming the two-week break.

A post on X bypewpiecehas translated an official statement by Shōnen Jump’s Editorial Department which confirmsOne Piecewill be going on asudden two-week break until June 29, 2025,resuming in issue #1 of Shōnen Jump. The message states that the hiatus is due to Eiichiro Oda’s “poor physical health.” News of Oda’s poor health has caused quite a bit of concern among fans, given how sudden and unexpected the break was, so much so that the fact that Shōnen Jump was unable to make the correction in time for the upcoming issue’s table of contents.

Chapter #1132 Has Been Pushed to December

Earlier in the week, Manga Plus, one of Shueisha’s affiliated online reading platforms, updated the estimated release date for chapter #1132 from November 17 to December 1. Keen-eyed fans quickly caught on to the little change and assumed the series was going on break. However, the release date was then quickly reverted to the initial date, leaving the matter hanging until Shōnen Jump’s official statement was released today.

Interestingly,One Piece’sofficial English translator, Stephen Paul, has also confirmed there will be no new chapterthis week. In apost on Bluesky, Stephen Paul commented on the release date being reverted on Manga Plus and confirmed that chapter #1132 would not be releasing this week. This post was made the day before Shōnen Jump’s official statement could be released, adding to the confusion surrounding the situation.

It is unclear whether Shueisha themselves were caught off guard or whether they were aware of the delay and Oda’s health issues. However, the fact thatOne Piecewill be listed in the upcoming issue suggestsShueisha might have been expecting the latest chapter to come in until the very last moment.

Update: Taking to social media,Oda’s staff posted a letterto fans confirming theOne Pieceartist is recovering. “Oda-sensei’s condition is improving,” the note reads. The post goes on to explain thatOne Piecewill be on hiatus through November, leaving fans to anticipate a December return.

One Piece Fans Are Hoping For Oda’s Quick Recovery

As much as fans have been excitedly waiting for the newest chapter of the Elbaf Arc, news of Oda’s health has left fans simply hoping for his speedy recovery.One Piecehas had quite an eventful year with multiple 25th-anniversary celebrations and many upcoming projects requiring Oda’s attention, such as the WIT Studio remake and the Fishman Island Remaster.

Season 2 of Netflix’s live-action adaptation ofOne Pieceis also well underway and with Oda having recently made a trip to South Africa to oversee production, it is more than understandable that he may have needed some extra time off. For now, fans can only hope that Oda continues to prioritize his health as he has done for the last couple of years, as fans would surely rather have Oda seeOne Pieceto the end.
