This event is a great opportunity to strengthen your team with some of the best Pokémon for competing in theGreat and Master League. This may be a short event, but the Powerful Potential has something for everyone:tough raid bosses, difficult Max Battles, and hatching eggsthat could lead to great Pokémon.

Every Pokémon You Should Expect

The Powerful Potential event introduces some exciting new Pokémon to collect. The highlight is Kubfu, the Legendary Wushu Pokémon, which can only be obtained through a freeSpecial Research story running from July 25, 2025, to July 27, 2025. This gives you plenty of time to collect this Pokémon, but it’s always better to rush.

Pokémon GO: Raid Boss Schedule For March 2025

Pokémon GO is full of tough Raid Bosses in March 2025 for trainers to take down if you have the right counters that are super-effective against them.

Kubfu can evolve into Urshifu, which has two different forms: Single Strike Style and Rapid Strike Style. The form you get depends on your choice during the evolution, and since you have plenty of time to complete the research, you also have plenty of time to decide which form you’d like to have.

Keep in mind that Kubfu cannot be traded or transferred to the professor or Pokémon Home.

Another significant addition isShiny Charcadet, making its first appearance inPokémon GO. you may find it in 2km, 5km, 7km, and 10km eggs. This is also the first chance to get the shiny version of Charcadet. Charcadet can evolve into Armarouge or Ceruledge. To get Armarouge, you need to walk Charcadet as your buddy and defeat 30 Psychic-type Pokémon. For Ceruledge, you’ll need to defeat 30 Ghost-type Pokémon. Both shiny forms of Charcadet and its evolutions can be obtained this way.

All Raids During Powerful Potential Event & Best Counters

Best Pokémon To Counter Raids

ThePokémon GOPowerful Potential event features a range of Raid battles that aredivided into one-star and three-star difficulty levels. You can find different Pokémon in these raids, and it’s important to have the right strategies to succeed. I know how hard it is to ensure you have the right Pokémon to fight in raids, so I’ve got a table to help you out.

One-Star Raids are pretty easy, but you still need the solid counters that are shown above.I chose Pokémon like Scizor, Hydreigon, and Girantina because of what Gothita, Scoliosis, and Sinistea are weak to. Gothita and Solosis are weak to Bug-, Dark-, and Ghost-type moves. Sinistea, being a Ghost-type, is weak to Dark and Ghost-type attacks.

Sierra In Pokémon GO

For the three-star raids, I picked Pokémon like Landorus-Therian, Groudon, and Giratina because Alolan Raichu is weak to Ground-, Dark-, and Ghost-type moves, while Hisuian Typhlosion is weak to Ground, Water, Dark, and Ghost-type moves.

Sableye is another Pokémon that is weak in the same way as Hisuian Typhlosion, meaning the same counters like Hydreigon and Giratina will work effectively.Make sure to have somegreat Dark-type Pokémonto win this raid quickly.

Pokémon GO: Max Mondays Schedule (March 2025)

With two Dynamax Pokémon making their debuts in Max Mondays this March, you should be looking to take them on in Pokémon GO to catch them.

While it may seem silly, Pokémon team strategy is something that took me a while to understand. Players look for some ofPokémon GO’s best Ghost-typesinstead of sticking to what can generally be found around because it’s smart to have the best counters ready for raids and battles. So verify you have a lot of different types to improve your teams.

All Max Battles During Powerful Potential Event & Best Counters

Best Pokémon Counter For Max Battles

ThePowerful Potential event splits Max battles into one-star and six-star encounters. Each type presents its own set of challenges. From June 08, 2025, at 6:00 AM to August 04, 2025, at 9:00 PM local time, trainers can face one-star Max Battles with Dynamax Grookey, Dynamax Scorbunny, and Dynamax Sobble as the enemies.

Six-Star

While you can always use the counters I mentioned above, it’s important to know why each one is good so you can effectively use them in your team. To beat Dynamax Grookey, Fire-type Pokémon like Charizard (using Fire Blast and Wing Attack) or Talonflame (with Brave Bird and Incinerate) work really well. Fighting-types like Lucario, which knows Counter and Power-Up Punch, can also hit hard. For Dynamax Scorbunny, you shoulduse Water-type Pokémon.

Greninja, with Water Gun and Hydro Pump, does great damage, and Swampert, with Water Gun and Hydro Cannon, is also a strong option. Against Dynamax Sobble,Electric-types are the way to go. Pokémon like Raikou (with Thunder Shock and Wild Charge) or Luxray (using Spark and Wild Charge) can take advantage of Sobble’s weaknesses.

The six-star Max Battles are a lot tougher. Luckily, becausethese are the max forms of the original three starters, you can use basic Pokémon type knowledge to beat them. However, they’re still really strong, and you’re not guaranteed a win just because you matched it well. Just ensure you put your best foot forward when fighting the six-star Max Battles.

How To Beat Sierra In Pokémon GO (March 2025)

Sierra’s line-up is currently easier to defeat, but you should select the best counters in Pokémon GO to increase your chances of victory.

You’re going to take on Gigantamax Blastoise, Gigantamax Charizard, and Gigantamax Venusaur. To take down Gigantamax Blastoise, Electric-types like Zekrom (with Charge Beam and Wild Charge) are very effective. Grass-types like Venusaur, using Razor Leaf and Sludge Bomb, can also deal heavy damage. When battling Gigantamax Charizard,Water- andRock-type Pokémon are good picks.

Kyogre, equipped with Water Gun and Hydro Pump, is a top choice, while Rhyperior (with Rock Throw and Stone Edge) is also a solid contender. Finally, to defeat Gigantamax Venusaur,Fire-type attackers are best. Charizard (with Fire Spin and Blast Burn) or Moltres (using Fire Spin and Overheat) can offer strong offense.

All Powerful Potential Event Rewards

What You Get For Participating In Powerful Potential

ThePokémon GOPowerful Potential event is packed with rewards, and not just from the exciting Pokémon you can catch. Events give you a lot of opportunities to earn various items and bonuses through different activities. During the event, there’sTimed Research that gives items and reduces the distance needed to hatch eggsto just a quarter of the normal distance, but this bonus is only available after finishing the Timed Research.

Completing Field Research tasks will also provide rewards, though the exact items are not specified. If you’re willing to spend $8 USD, you’re able to buy a Special Research called “Fuzzy Fighter.” This gives you extra rewards likeone Incense, two Premium Battle Passes, and one Star Piece. Plus, it includes chances to catch theme-related Pokémon and a rare chance to encounter Dynamax Kubfu.

Everyone participating in the event will benefit from a general bonus that halves egg hatch distances for all eggs in incubators during the event, regardless of whether or not you complete the Timed Research. If you do finish the Timed Research, you’ll enjoy an even better quarter-distance hatch rate. Either way, while the rewards may seem lackluster, they’re still bonuses for participating in the Powerful Potential Event inPokémon GO.
