A newPokémon Trading Card Game Pocketleak claims that an upcoming competitive event will be the hardest yet for players.Pokémon TCG Pockethas released a steady stream of events since its release, featuring a mix of events focused on battling and others focused on collecting new cardslike Lapras ex. Because competitive events often have a level of disparity to them, as some players have pulled top cards and others have not, these events usually reward prizes like emblems instead of exclusive promo card rewards or accessories.

Recently, aPokémon TCG Pocket leak posted on Reddit bythe user Feariorsuggests that a new competitive event is coming soon, featuring a unique challenge for players. Players can earn new emblems based on having a winning streak in competitive matches. The top reward is a gold emblem, which can be earned by winning five matches in a row. No other rewards were revealed for this leaked event, nor was a timeframe given as to when it would start.

Can Players Actually Complete The Impossible Challenge In Pokémon TCG Pocket?

Pokémon TCG Pocket Players Will Need A Lot Of Luck To Get Five Wins In A Row

Going on a winning streak might not seem like an impossible task, butthe small prize pool and the emergence of multiple meta-relevant decks make this feat very difficult.Even a top deck like thetournament-winning Pikachu ex deckcan be stopped by either bad card draws or a Fighting-type decklike Marowak ex. Outside of the Mewtwo ex deck (which can still be defeated by fast decks like Pikachu ex or Starmie ex), every highly competitive deck can be defeated under the right circumstances. This means that earning five wins in a row is a highly difficult task.

Pokémon TCG Pocket Confirms New Booster Packs, Trades, & More New Features Coming Soon

Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket provided new details on when trading and new cards will be coming to the popular card app, along with other features.

Players should look at two main strategies if they want to earn this new event’s top prize. They can either choose to build a dominant deck like Pikachu ex and hope that they don’t run into any bad luck or poor draws. The other option is to build a deck that can defeat those meta-dominant decks and hope that they get a series of favorable matchups. For instance,a Marowak ex deck might be the best call since it’s a Fighting-type deck that’s not weak to the Psychic-type Pokémonfound in Mewtwo ex decks.

Our Take: This Might Be Pokémon TCG Pocket’s Worst Event Yet

Pokémon TCG Players Might Not Have A Lot Of Fun Grinding For Minimal Rewards

Pokémon TCG Pocketmatches involve a lot of luck, from the deck you’re playing against to the cards you draw to the use of coin flips to land extra damage on attacks. While good deck builds can mitigate at least some of this luck, matches inPokémon TCG Pocketare a lot more swingy than in a physicalPokémon TCGgame. That’s why I am not a fan of this event. Even a player with the best deck and the best strategy will still be hard-pressed to actually win five games in a row because there’s too much luck involved.

Hopefully, the emblems are the only rewards involved with this new event. Hiding new promo cards or bonus hourglasses behind a nearly impossible-to-complete task would feel unfair and makePokémon Trading Card Game Pocketa lot less enjoyable.
