The PlayStation 5 Pro may be the most powerful version of the console but when it comes to runningSilent Hill 2, it’s struggling. Bloober Team and Konami have done an excellent job modernizing one of the most important horror games ever made and while it runs beautifully on PC and the base PlayStation 5, not everyone is enjoying their time with it. Based on plenty of reports,it sounds as though some serious work is needed to ensureSilent Hill 2performs properly on the PS5 Pro.
Over on Reddit, userUnlucky-Soil-2456shared an image of a thread on X (formerly Twitter) whereSilent Hill 2players are collectively requesting a patch or update that fixes the game on PS5 Pro.

Users are complaining about broken lighting, flickering reflections, and constant frame rate dropswhich significantly detract from the atmosphere of the titular town. As pointed out above, Konami and Bloober Team have yet to respond to the demands so fans will just have to be patient and hope that a fix arrives soon.
Silent Hill 2’s PS5 Pro Performance Is A Pity
It Looks Great Everywhere Else
It’s ironic thatSilent Hill 2runs so poorly on the PS5 Pro when Sony has touted the device asits most powerful console yet. It’s also a shame asBloober Team has done some great work bringing the PlayStation 2 classic into the modern erawith all the bells and whistles one might expect from the current generation. Despite the constant gloom and fog that hangs over the hamlet, there’s a haunting beauty toSilent Hill 2that’s been retained in the remake.
What makes the experience even more disappointing is thatSilent Hill 2 Remakeis a genuinely fantastic game. Despite some enthusiasts being apprehensive before its launch, critics and fans agreethat Bloober Team managed to land the plane with style, deliveringa version of the gamethat may not surpass the original but certainly lived up to the hype. One can only hope that PS5 Pro players will soon understand the excitement; Konami and Bloober Team are likely aware of the issue and are working on a fix.

Silent Hill 2: Why James Is Really In Silent Hill
James Sunderland isn’t in a stable mental state, and although he thinks he knows why he’s returning to Silent Hill, the truth is slightly complicated.
Silent Hill 2 Remake Was Better Than Expected
Even With High Expectations
While the trailers forSilent Hill 2 Remakedidn’t sell me on the experience, I had faith in Bloober Team. The studio of horror veterans has constantly pushed itself to take on increasingly more ambitious projectsand while it hasn’t always hit it out of the park, I’ve never hated one of its games. I’m glad its foray into the foggy town has been so successful and I hope Konami continues to work with Bloober tomodernize moreSilent Hillgames.
