Scary Movie 6has been officially confirmed, with the Wayans brothers coming back to the comedic, horror parody franchise 23 years after their departure. AScary Movierebootwas previously confirmed at CinemaCon in April 2024, aiming for a theatrical release date some time in 2025. While no details had been announced at the time, the movie was confirmed to be in active development, indicating there would be more concrete information about what to expect in the near future.
Now,Deadlinehas confirmedMarlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, and Keenan Ivory Wayans will be involved inScary Movie 6, a reboot of the franchise with a script from Rick Alvarez. It will be a new take on the horror parody franchise, set to begin filming in 2025, and slated for a theatrical release. The announcement was coupled with a statement from Miramax CEO Jonathan Glickman, who expressed excitement for their return:

The Wayans brothers also spoke to Deadline about their return, glad not only to be bringing the franchise back with a new, modern vision, but also to be working with Mixamax on it once more:

We remember people laughing in the aisles and hope to see that happen again.
