The Ultimate Lifeform will be working with both Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) and his grandfather, Gerald (Carrey), to destroy the world as revenge for something that happened in his past.
Now,Paramount Pictureshas released an exclusive clip of Shadow’s first meeting with Team Sonic inSonic the Hedgehog 3.Aftersome back-and-forth about how Sonic and Shadow look the same, the new hedgehog threatens the trio. While Sonic insists he just wants them to talk, Shadow retorts, saying, “You jumped out of a G.U.N. helicopter. There’s nothing to talk about.” He turns away, prompting Knuckles to attack. The new antagonist reveals his teleportation powers, juggling him in the air with kicks before striking him to the ground.
While Sonic tries regrouping his friends,Shadow is easily able to dispatch of them all, one-by-one. This plays out the same way as the first trailer for the film, with Shadow kicking away Tails and Knuckles before lifting Sonic up into the air and smashing him to the ground. The trio being taken down so easily means they aren’t going to be able to face him alone, potentially being what leads them to try and find Robotnik and team up with him. But even this appears short-lived given the trailers show him allying with Gerald eventually.
