WARNING! This article contains SPOILERS for The White Lotus season 3, episode 6!Each storyline is becoming more and more tense with each episode ofThe White Lotusseason 3, yetthe big fallout that I can’t wait to watch unfold likely has nothing to do with the mysterious death. As has been the case with each season so far,The White Lotusseason 3’s opening scenebegins by revealing that at least one person will die over the week at the White Lotus resort. That death sets the tone for the dangerous chaos that will erupt for the guests and employees alike, keeping audiences guessing about which character will fall victim and why.

However,The White Lotusseason 3 proves that even the stories about those least likely to die can be even more entertaining than trying to solve the murder mystery. That most strongly applies to the girls’ trip story, focusing on the toxic friendship between Hollywood actress Jaclyn (Michelle Monaghan), New York lawyer Laurie (Carrie Coon), and Texas country club wife Kate (Leslie Bibb). While the first half of their trip is contained to petty gossip and bad-mouthing, theirdecades’ worth of resentments are finally building to a catastrophic fallout after episode 6 as Laurie confronts Jaclynabout sleeping with Valentin.

Laurie & Jaclyn’s Fight Is Going To Be The Most Entertaining Blow-Up In The White Lotus Season 3

Their Story Has Been One Of The Most Captivating

By midway through the 2025 outing, it becomes clear thatLaurie, Jaclyn, and Kate’s story is the most entertainingofThe White Lotusseason 3. While it can be difficult to watch due to the women inevitably knowing the other two are talking about her when leaving the room, and even just watching them continue to hang out despite clearly not liking each other, their resentments and dynamics create the exact kind of tension that’s impossible to look away from. Their issues generally feel quite true to life, whereas the other stories are typically less relatable to the masses.

As such, their inevitable blow-up is one that audiences can see coming from a mile away, and it’s unlikely to be as dark, life-destroying, or lethal as the potential outcomes for Rick and Chelsea, Greg and Belinda, Gaitok and Mook, or the Ratliff family’sThe White Lotusseason 3 stories.Laurie, Jaclyn, and Kate’s intense dramaprovides some of the season’s strongest character explorations and writing, andit doesn’t require the high stakes of a potential death to make their scenes so captivating.

Why Jaclyn Is So Defensive About Sleeping With Valentin In The White Lotus Season 3, Episode 6

Jaclyn’s night with Valentin gets exposed in The White Lotus season 3, episode 6, with her defensive reaction saying a lot about her character.

That tension has now truly started to boil over with Laurie antagonizing Jaclyn and calling her out inThe White Lotusseason 3, episode 6, with Kate trying to stay out of the drama despite being the one who told Laurie about the affair. After repeatedly encouraging Laurie to pursue him,Jaclyn slept with Valentindespite being married. WithLaurie then getting drunk and confronting Jaclyn about doing the same thing when they were teenagers, it looks like about 30 years’ worth of anger, resentment, and insults will finally come out byThe White Lotusseason 3’s ending.

Kate Has Been Very Non-Confrontational In The White Lotus

The major focus of the fallout in the girls’ group will be between Laurie and Jaclyn, but Kate is bound to be wrapped up in the drama. If Kate takes either side, then she’ll be attacked by the other for her role in helping start the dramaby revealing the truth to Laurie. However, if the week in Thailand ends with Jaclyn and Laurie no longer being friends, Leslie Bibb’s non-confrontational Kate will likely let the matter blow over and choose one of them to still be close with.

Even from the premiere, Kate seemed to gravitate towards Jaclyn over Laurie.

Given whatThe White Lotusseason 3 has revealed so far about their dynamic,Kate is most likely to stick by Jaclyn. She has the most status and power of the three, even being the one who paid for their trip to Thailand. It’s become clear that these threeThe White Lotusseason 3 charactersdon’t feel much shame about having superficial relationships with each other, and Kate would have more superficial benefits to staying friends with Hollywood actress Jaclyn over Laurie. Even from the premiere, Kate seemed to gravitate towards Jaclyn over Laurie.

Laurie, Kate & Jaclyn Probably Won’t Be Involved In The White Lotus Season 3’s Big Death

Their Drama Is Unlikely To Result In The Shootout

While there’s always a possibility that they could end up being the mysterious victim, Laurie, Kate, or Jaclyn appear to be less likely to die inThe White Lotusseason 3 than those from the other character groups. Aside from their outings with Valentin, the women have been more removed from the other character groups, unlike the Ratliffs, Chelsea and Rick, Greg and Chloe, Gaitok, and Belinda having links to the others. The closest they’ve come to bigger interactions with the others was whenVictoria rudely dismissed Kateat dinner after the latter recognized Parker Posey’s character.

The White Lotus Season 3, Episode 6’s Big Death Fakeout Is Probably Way Darker Than The Real Killing Will Be

The White Lotus has included some pretty rough death visions for Jason Isaacs' Timothy Ratliff, but the season’s death likely won’t be half as bad.

The other stories appear much more likely to result in a more violent outcome, bringing a different kind of intensity to their conflicts. From Tim’s suicidal ideation to Greg’s mysterious plans for Belinda orRick potentially killing Sritala’s husband, the darkness of impending death looms over these stories much more. Meanwhile,Laurie, Jaclyn, and Kate’s drama isn’t likely to culminate in the shootoutteased inThe White Lotusseason 3’s opening sequence.
