Fans of theSilent Hillfranchise have been looking forward to theSilent Hill 2 Remakesince it was first announced back in 2022. The location whereJames Sunderlandencounters Flesh Lip in theSilent Hill 2 Remakehasn’t changed from the original. Flesh Lip is foundat the end of Brookhaven Hospitalafterencountering Pyramid Head. James finds Laura in the hospital and engages in a brief argument with her.

After the argument,Laura will lock James inside a room in the hospital. After a cutscene, which includes part of the ceiling falling in, Flesh Lipcomes down from the ceilinginside a rusty metal frame. The Flesh Lip appears bloated and deformed, with human limbs protruding from its top and bottom and a pair of large lips.

How To Beat Flesh Lip

Phase 1 And Phase 2 Require Different Strategies

Flesh Lip is a cunning foe that requires an excellent strategy to beat. In theoriginalSilent Hill 2, James would have tofight against three Flesh Lips, two simultaneously and then a third one after defeating the first two. However, in the remake,there is only one Flesh Lip to beat. Unlike the 2001 version, Flesh Lip comes with actual moves instead of just trying to grab and throttle James, which is a significantchange for the remaster.

This guide is for standard difficulty. Hard difficulty may require different strategies, as Flesh Lip will be more challenging to beat.

As shown inChamps Network’s video,Flesh Lip will havetwo phasesin the remake. In the first phase, It will be in a metal cage. In the second phase, It will break free. Each phase willintroduce different attacks.

Phase 2

You’ll want tofocus on breaking the frameto expose Flesh Lip to more attacks when in its cage. First, keep an eye on the ceiling. When the tiles are about to break, they’ll start shaking. Take this as your queue to move away.

Broken tiles remain broken, so use the broken tiles to keep an eye on Flesh Lip.

When Flesh Lip dangles from the ceiling, its hands are exposed. Shoot its hands, specifically,the one holding onto the supports. Hitting its hand will cause Flesh Lip to drop,stunned. Use melee attacks to deal some good damage.

Save your ammo for Phase 2, when you can more easily damage the freed Flesh Lip.

Once the stun wears off, Flesh Lip willreturn to the ceiling, continue dashing around, and cause more tiles to collapse. To avoid Flesh Lip, continuously move around and watch for shaky tiles.

Continue shooting it down from the ceiling and attacking it with your melee weapon. After taking enough damage, Flesh Lip willshed its cage and enter Phase 2. Now things get a little more difficult. During Phase 2, Flesh Lip will be able to attack when stunned. Itsrange of attack will also increase drastically, mainly sticking to ground attacks.

With its arms revealed, Flesh Lip unlocks new attacks. Flesh Lip won’t hold back, and its movement speed will allow it toeasily chase James down, so be careful and do your best to dodge incoming attacks. Now that Flesh Lip is on the ground and all its arms are exposed,it can easily reach around the room. There’s nowhere to hide, so stay alert and dodge.

While Phase 2 Flesh Lip will primarily be on the ground, it can still swing back up into the ceiling. Flesh Lip will use this time toposition itself above James and dropdown. Keep your eyes on Flesh Lip at all times and avoid this surprise attack at all costs.

Continue shooting Flesh Lip, chipping away at its health. Phase 2 Flesh Lip is faster and more aggressive, but without the protection of the cage,it’s easy to hurt. Once you deal enough damage, Flesh Lip will be no more, and you’ll be able to progress through theSilent Hill 2 Remake, leaving the Brookhaven Hospital behind.
