Out of all the content packs forThe Sims 4, the occult-themed ones are usually the ones that EA knows how to do best. With supernatural worlds, interesting items in Build Mode and Create-A-Sim, and, of course, the variety of engaging Live Mode features, theoccult packs forThe Sims 4make the core game considerably more interesting. One pack that did this extremely well wasThe Sims 4 Realm Of Magic, which was released as a Game Pack in 2019. However, despite the pretty generous amount of content, it could definitely have been developed into an expansion pack.

The Sims 4 Realm of Magicgame pack introduced plenty of exciting new features into the game. From the ability to become the occult type of Spellcaster, to learning new spells and brewing potions, not to mention the unique clothing and furniture items that came with this pack,Realm of Magicwas the real deal. With a magical realm featuring a town similar to Harry Potter’s Diagon Alley,Realm of Magicprovides a lot of content to explore. However, the game could have been expanded with one feature that seemed to be missing from the pack: a magic school.

Sims 4 Realm Of Magic Needs Improvement For Magic Training

Great Concepts That Deserve More

While attending the Magic Realm and taking part in magical training with each of the three available tutors is part of the natural progression as a Spellcaster,The Sims 4 Realm of Magiclacks a magic school systemthat would have significantly elevated its experience. It feels that EA might have missed a trick here, sleeping on the opportunity to incorporate some sort of academy where Spellcasters could be enrolled to attend a variety of magical classes like potion-making, and classes specializing in each of the different categories of spells.

Magic School Could Have Improved Gameplay

What A Full Expansion Pack Might Look Like

Although later expansion packs likeHigh School Yearshad pros and cons in terms of the high school system, a similar system forRealm of Magiccould have been quite a success. The path to completing the Spellcaster’s knowledge inRealm of Magiccan be completed relatively quickly, so adding in a system where they can attend various classes, engage in different magical extracurricular activities, and interact with other Spellcasters would have been beneficial to make the game pack into more of an expansion pack. Ultimately, fleshing this out could have improved the timelessness of its content.

This Occult Type Is Still Missing From The Sims 4

The Sims 4 already has a lot of occult Sim types, but there’s one still missing that could offer a lot to the game in terms of new content.

WhileRealm of Magicis certainly up there in terms ofThe Sims 4’s better content add-on packs, along with the likes ofVampires,Life & Death, andWerewolves,Realm of Magiccan feel like its content quickly grows old. That being said, it doesn’t have to be the end ofThe Sims 4’s exploration of this territory.

With the market for a witchier style of cozy game growing progressively more popular over the last decade, along with EA’s announcement thatThe Sims 4will continue to be the core game for the franchise,an alternative and more developed version ofRealm of Magiccould hopefully be releasedin the future. The addition of a structured magic school system would not only be a fun Live Mode content add-on, but it would breathe some life intoThe Sims 4’s base game itself.
