Sister Wivesseason 19 has showcased major drama between Kody and Robyn Brown, butChristine Brown and her beau David Woolleyare doing just fine - in fact,David may be stealing Kody’s thunder. Over the years, Kody’s become a big-time villain - there is something almost cartoonish about the man and his antics. Childish and stubborn, with little emotional intelligence, Kody tends to blame others for his own shortcomings. When David joined the show, he brought a different energy, mostly due to his lack of bitterness.
At this point, Kody’s so jaded, it’s gross.
Kody makes the people around him miserable. His energy is dark and oppressive. Even Robyn, the favorite, is totally disillusioned at this point. So, understandably, when David came in, it was like a breath of fresh air. He entered the fray as a true love interest, rather than a husband who acted more like a hostage. Yes, David wants to be with Christine - while they had a little wedding venue drama, that’s not the end of the world. However, Christine did nudge David into appearing on the show, as perUS Weekly.
David Stands Out Onscreen
Kody’s Not So Exciting
Above, viaTLCat YouTube, Christine wanted to"lock down"a wedding venue and ran into some obstacles. These are regular “happy couple” problems. It’s nothing like the toxic mélange that is Kody’s interactions with just about everyone.
Kody’s potent cocktail of fragile male ego, patriarchal power trips, and blaming the entire world for being an erratic and cranky person is a drink that is increasingly hard to choke down.

Meanwhile, David’s so enamored of hisvibrant and stunning wife Christine, who is happier than ever, that he agreed to film the show even though he didn’t want to. Love is about sacrifice, and David seems to understand that. It is about compromise! Christine said:
“He would prefer not to do … [but] he supports me. He just realizes this is my life. But I did say, “You know, if you don’t want to do it, then you don’t have to.” But he’s been very gracious and kind with his time. I’m really, really just eternally grateful [that] he’s willing.”
By acting like a man, rather than an angst-ridden adolescent,David may eclipse his rival, Kody. While Kody has fathered a slew of children, his general maturity level is remarkably, dazzlingly low. It’s like fame stalled his personal growth forever. The tragic passing of his son Garrison Brown may change him, giving him more depth and compassion, but there’s always the chance that the die is cast.
Kody is probably set in his ways, and if he keeps it up, he may lose the only wife he has left. No one wants to be unhappy every day becausetheir crabapple of a partner can’t find any joy in life. Kody’s just no fun anymore - he is honestly such a drag. It’s boring to watch him play out the same tired psychodrama with different women, one after the other.
What has he learned from all of his experiences? Just to shift the blame. That’s not nearly enough.
Years of feuding anddownright creepy lording it over the Brown womenhavetwisted the patriarch Kody’s mind, leaving him a dry and empty husk. He’s a snake who desperately needs to shed his skin. Rebirth is always possible, but until Kody learns how to really be a man, it’s likely that viewers will look to David, idealizing a man who has so much to offer.
The newSister Wivesstar is there for his partner, and he lights up screens because he’s nothing like Kody. David is the ultimate role model. Men should watch and learn.
It’s shocking thatKody’s ruining his marriage with Robyndue to bitterness over his exes. He spent years alienating three good women - he pushed them to the point where they had toemotionally seal themselves off from him in order to cope. All of this he quietly engineered, while blaming his dastardly acts on everyone else.
He blamed his victims!
Now, Robyn’s experiencing a little of that emotionally stunted energy, and it does not fill her with elation. It’s not sexy - it’s not cool. It’s just depressing, like staring out at a war-torn landscape. Life isn’t supposed to be an endless battle - it is supposed to be enjoyed most of the time.
At the same time,David the herois going all out for his woman. He’s providing her with happiness, communication and, one hopes, enough passion to make up for her dull and sexless spiritual union with Kody. WhatSister Wives' Kody did to Christine’s life was ridiculous, and to blame her for that is not appropriate. Now, she can frolic with a man who actually smiles. And viewers can play along, thankful that one male is trying to make a woman happy.
