Evan Evagora’s Elnor played a significant role inStar Trek: Picardseason 1, but the young Romulan appeared to have been forgotten by the show’s third season. Prior to the events ofStar Trek: Picardseason 1, the Romulan sun had gone supernova, prompting Starfleet to mount a massive evacuation mission led by Admiral Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart). When rogue synths attacked Mars and destroyed the fleet of rescue ships, Starfleet stopped aiding in the evacuation. Disgusted that Starfleet would halt such an important rescue mission, Picard resigned in protest, hoping that the Starfleet higher-ups would change their minds.

Instead, Starfleet accepted Picard’s resignation and he found himself facing retirement at his family’s French vineyard.Retirement did not quite suit Picard, and Jean-Luc found himself caught up in another adventurewhen an android woman named Dahj (Isa Briones) showed up on his doorstep. Turned away by Starfleet, Picard recruited a new ‘motley crew’ as several old friends joined Jean-Luc on his new mission to find Dahj’s twin sister, Soji.Raffi Musiker (Michelle Hurd), who had worked with Picard on the Romulan evacuation mission, reluctantly joined Picard’s cause, as did Elnor, a young Romulan warrior Picard had grown close to.

Having been raised with the Qowat Milat philosophy of Absolute Candor,Elnor was honest to a fault, sometimes sharing his thoughts and feelings a bit too freely.Although Elnor grew into a formidable warrior, he remained naive and somewhat awkward due to his sheltered upbringing. Still, Elnor was a genuinely good person who cared deeply about his friends and was willing to put his own life in danger to protect them.

Jean-Luc Picard’s long-held dislike of children softened thanks to Elnor.

Starfleet Academy is the gateway to a career as a Starfleet Officer, and Star Trek has had some graduates who made history in various ways.

InStar Trek: Picardseason 2, Q (John de Lancie) returned and changedStar Trek’s Prime timeline into the xenophobicConfederation of Earth alternate reality. When Admiral Picard’s motley crew traveled to 2024 Los Angeles to repair the altered timeline, Elnor was injured in the escape and ultimately died from his wounds. Despite his death,Q resurrected Elnor at the end ofPicardseason 2,after Jean-Luc had confronted his past. Elnor’s last onscreenStar Trekappearance was inStar Trek: Picardseason 2’s finale, as he joined Jean-Luc, Seven, and Raffi for a drink at Guinan’s (Whoopi Goldberg) bar, Ten Forward.

Elnor was not the only character who did not return forStar Trek: Picard’s third and final season, as Soji, Cristobal Rios (Santiago Cabrera), and Agnes Jurati (Allison Pill) were also absent.

BecauseStar Trek: Picardseason 3 reunited theoriginal cast ofStar Trek: The Next Generation, the show could not afford to bring back all ofPicard’s new characters as well. Elnor did not make an appearance when the USS Excelsior was destroyed by the Borg at the disastrous Frontier Day celebration. However,Star Trek: Picardseason 3 showrunner Terry Matalas confirmed that Elnor was not aboard the Excelsior when it was destroyed, leaving the door open for Starfleet’s first full-blooded Romulan officer to appear in a futureStar Trekproject.
