If Gabriel Macht returns forSuits: L.A.even if as a cameo, the upcomingSuitsspinoff will finally deliver the Harvey Specter story that the original show couldn’t. From the moment we met Macht’s character in the pilot toSuits’ series finale, Harvey Specter was always at the top of his game and bragging about how he only plays in the “Major Leagues.” One of Harvey Specter’s defining traits was experiencing life at the highest level possible, particularly when it came to his job.

Harvey’s world changed a lot duringSuits' nine-season run, particularly after he met Mike Ross. Not only were they in on a fraud together, but the junior associate without a law degree helped Harvey understand that there was more to their profession than working for the biggest clients in the country. Harvey Specter was known as the best closer in New York City, a reputation he was very proud of and fought to keep. However, at the end ofSuits,Harvey decided to leave the corporate lawyer life behind him and joined Mike’s legal clinic.

Harvey Specter Would Be Defending The “Little Guy” If He Appears In Suits: L.A.

Assuming Harvey and Donna are still in Seattle working with Michael and Rachel, Gabriel Macht’s character would be representing the “little guy” if he were to appear in theupcomingSuits: L.A.In other words, for the first time since the inception of theSuitsfranchise, Harvey would be working for clients who don’t have a lot of money and cannot afford the best possible legal defense. Granted,Harvey has done pro bono cases and would sometimes help Mike in whatever David and Goliath battles his protégé encountered, but not regularly.

Harvey Specter briefly worked as Assistant District Attorney before being hired by Jessica.

Harvey didn’t really care about making money, but he was driven by cases involving powerful clients where a lot was at stake. This is why it would be so fascinating to see Harvey Specter working representing clients from a legal clinic, especially if they were going up against powerful players and corporations.Someone who reached out to Mike’s clinic would never have the money to afford an attorney like Harvey, yet they would now be represented by one of the most famous and successful lawyers in theSuitsuniverse.

Harvey Working Outside The Major Leagues Should’ve Happened More Often In Suits

Harvey Working With Fewer Resources Would’ve Been Fun

Harvey defined his entire personality around “playing on the major leagues”and experiencing life in a way that most people don’t.“Life is this, I like this”was his motto, which made even more sense once we started learning more about why Harvey was the way he was. That said, it would have been a lot of fun to see Harvey working without the resources he had atPearson Specter Littand going up against clients who were far more powerful and influential than his.

7 Reasons Why Suits’ L.A. Spinoff Is Better Than A Suits Revival

After 9 seasons, Suits came to an end, and, despite a resurgence of popularity on Netflix, the franchise’s future is better off in Suits L.A.’s hands.

Harvey’s approach to law did change thanks to Mike, and that became obvious inSuitsseason 9. After marrying Donna and saving the firm from Faye Richardson, Harvey realized there was nothing else left for him to do in New York. A Harvey Specter cameo inSuits: L.A.showing him living a more peaceful life while working at Mike’s legal clinic would be a great way to revisit the character while doing something thatSuitsnever did.

How Harvey Specter Can Appear In Suits: L.A. Without Ruining Suits’ Ending

One of the biggest challenges with revisitingSuitscharacters inSuits: L.A.is how to do it without ruining their perfect endingsfrom season 9. WhileSuitswas never as good as it had once been once Mike left, season 9 managed to end on a high note. Harvey Specter’s ending was particularly satisfying and brought closure to a character that had been through a lot since the beginning of the show. Harvey leaving the firm was more than just a play to save it from Faye – it was a natural next step in his professional life.

Suitswas known for its guest stars and supporting characters who would steal the show, so it wouldn’t be surprising ifSuits: L.A.has a lot of cameos too.

It would be very disappointing if Harvey Specter was back to being a corporate lawyer working at a major firm by the time we met him again inSuits: L.A.Not only did Harvey choose to live a more peaceful life, but he also learned from Mike that you don’t need to work on the biggest cases to find fulfillment. This is whyif Harvey appears inSuits: L.A., he should still be working with Mike on the clinic.Interestingly, we never got to see Mike’s legal clinic inSuitsas everything happened offscreen.

Assuming Harvey is still in Seattle, there would be essentially two ways of having him inSuits: L.A.Either one of theSuits: L.A.characters have to go to Seattle for some reason or Harvey will be working on a case in Los Angeles. Having Harvey in LA for a cameo would allowSuits’ new spinoff to include Gabriel Macht’s character without necessarily having to bring back Mike or Donna. This would leave the door open for those other characters to appear in different episodes.

Should Suits: L.A. Bring Back Too Many Suits Characters?

Suits: L.A. Must Find Its Own Identity First

Whether Harvey Specter and any otherSuitscharacters will appear inSuits: L.A.may come down to how much the spinoff series wants to rely on cameos and special appearances.Suitswas known for its guest stars and supporting characters who would steal the show, so it wouldn’t be surprising ifSuits: L.A.has a lot of cameos too. That said, considering how popularSuitsis, the spinoff may want to avoid creating its own identity before bringing in too many cameos.

Suits: L.A.doesn’t have a release date yet.

Characters like Mike Ross and Harvey Specter would draw too much attention to themselves, and there would always be hope that they would show up again.Suits: L.A.is part of the “Suitsuniverse” and shouldn’t try to distance itself from the original show just for the sake of it. However, big cameos like Harvey showing up for an episode should be used carefully and only if they add to the story.
