Warning! This article contains SPOILERS for 1923 season 2, episode 3.Teonna Rainwater (Aminah Nieves) hasn’t had any overlaps with the Dutton family in1923season 2, but there’s still one very simple way for their stories to intertwine. As one of the manyYellowstonespinoff shows,1923is mostly concerned with telling the story of theDutton family tree. However, thecast of1923also includes several other people, from allies to enemies in the Dutton family’s fight to protect the Yellowstone ranch. Curiously, Teonna Rainwater doesn’t fit into either of those distinctions, and her story doesn’t actually intersect with the Duttons' at all (so far).
Since theending of1923season 1, Teonna Rainwater has been on the run from the law for killing some of the abusive nuns at her boarding school. By1923season 2, episode 3, she was in Texas hiding out on Charles Goodnight’s ranch with her father and boyfriend. Teonna is also an ancestor of Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) inYellowstone, which helps explain why1923has focused on her so much, but it’s still odd that her story hasn’t had her cross paths with one of the many Duttons featured in the show. Luckily,1923season 2 also has the perfect way to rectify that oversight.
Teonna Rainwater’s Story Doesn’t Connect To The Duttons In 1923
Teonna, Runs His Horse, Pete, Renaud, & Kent Have Never Met A Dutton In 1923
As of1923season 2, episode 3, Teonna Rainwater’s story has no bearing on or connection to the Dutton family’s saga at all. The Duttons are busy fighting for their ranch and battling Donald Whitfield (Timothy Dalton), while Teonna, Runs His Horse (Michael Spears), and Pete Plenty Clouds (Jeremy Gauna) run from Marshal Kent (Jamie McShane) and Father Renaud (Sebastian Roché).Teonna’s story is completely separate from the Duttons', and it almost feels like1923is two distinct shows that have been mashed together. Aside from her connection to Thomas Rainwater, which is only explored inYellowstone, Teonna’s story feels like a complete non-sequitur.
How Spencer Can Bring Teonna Rainwater Into 1923’s Main Story
Spencer Could Easily Cross Paths With Teonna On His Way To Montana
While Teonna’s story in1923hasn’t intersected with the Duttons' yet, that doesn’t mean it can’t. In fact,1923season 2 already has the perfect way to tie Teonna into the Dutton family’s saga: Spencer Dutton (Brandon Sklenar).Spencer is on his way to Montana, which should put him on a direct course to run into Teonna and her group in1923season 2. In fact, Jennifer Carpenter’s Mamie Fossett basically guarantees Spencer and Teonna will meet. Fossett is searching for Teonna, and a trailer has already shown that she would interact with Spencer, meaning all three will be in the same area at some point.

Once Spencer and Teonna meet, it shouldn’t be hard to bring her into the main story of1923season 2. Once Fossett finds Teonna, Kent and Renaud will too, and they’ll be dealt with one way or another.Then, Spencer can simply travel with Teonna, Runs His Horse, and Pete back to Montana once the threat is gone. It’s even possible that Spencer could give them all jobs as cowboys on the ranch, given their experience herding sheep and their current work with Charles Goodnight’s cowboys. It seems Teonna could soon become a very central part of1923season 2.
