Damien Leone has seemingly been confirmedTerrifier 4. Leone is the director of theTerrifierseries, which began as a 2011 short that focused on a Halloween night murder by brutal antagonist Art the Clown. The murderous clown then returned for the full-length filmTerrifierfive years later, which was followed up 6 years later by the surprising success ofTerrifier 2. TheupcomingTerrifier 3is being released this year. It will have a Christmas setting and is set to hit theaters on October 11.

During a Q & A at theTerrifierpremiere, Leone is said to haveconfirmed thatTerrifier 4is going to be made. This statement is based on X posts from multiple individuals, including @RCAReacts, @RyanRanc, and @Zproductionz. The first person claims that they directly asked in the Q & A if aTerrifier 4would be made, and that Leone confirms it. Backing up this statement, @RynaRanc notes that “They just confirmed Terrifier 4!” The last person, also referencing the Q & A, also says “Terrifier 4 was just confirmed by Damien Leone.”

What This Means For The Terrifier Series

Damien Leone Himself Has Not Confirmed This Update

While theTerrifier 4confirmation may seem initially exciting, it is important to note thatLeone has not released any public statement about another installment. The fact that three different Fantastic Fest members confirmed this news seems like a good sign that Leone did indeed say this at theTerrifier 3premiere. Absent a Q & A video, however, it cannot be fully known whetherTerrifier 4is definitely happening or what exactly Leone said about the film.

The update is still a good sign forTerrifier 4, however. Part of the future of the series likely depends on howTerrifier 3does in theaters. The festival audience seems to like it so far, but there are still a few weeks before the film hits wider release. IfTerrifier 3matches or exceeds thesuccess ofTerrifier 2, the likelihood ofTerrifier 4will go up, even if Leone has not publicly confirmed it by then.

What A Terrifier 3 Success Would Mean For Terrifier 4’s Budget

Could The Film Avoid Selling Out?

As fascinated I am by the success of theTerrifierfranchise, each installment brings greater risk of the film selling out. TheTerrifiermovies have made a name for themselves as low-budget hits. Leone has been adamant that this is important to the film, and that existing outside of Hollywood allows the movies to convey their extreme brutality. If the franchise extends toTerrifier 4and beyond, however, I fear Leone and his team could be tempted by bigger budgets. Hopefully, the franchise can stay true to form even if aTerrifier 4is eventually made.
